I'm sure the binoculars are fine. I bought them for "emergencies" because I'm nearsighted and can't see far. If I need to see signs or people far away these are great.
If this pair had not been defective I think it would have been an okay pair of binoculars to accomplish decent 4x magnification, a hard magnification to find. My pair arrived stuck in the farthest open position. It obviously looked like it should adjust but wouldn't. Since it was useless to me stuck in the open position (since I couldn't look through both eyepieces at the same time) I applied more pressure until one piece finally snapped. That freed up most of the moving pieces so it would adjust. However, it didn't snap at the place where it was supposed to be separated - it snapped elsewhere. The front section by my eyes will now adjust properly but the back barely moves - still hindered by part of the defect. So now they are somewhat usable because they will reach both eyes properly, but look like they will soon fall apart because of the broken spot. There is an adjustment wheel to focus both eyes, but there is no adjustment on a single eyepiece if you need that. Comes with a vinyl/plastic (?) case with a small strap on the side (not big enough to go over an adult hand but probably could fit over a child's hand) and a place on the back for it to fit through a belt. Case closes with velcro. If I had gotten a workable pair, they would have probably been worth the Alexander Hamilton I paid.
