Solid bike mount for a garage ceiling. Once the ceiling joists are located, installation is straightforward. Throw away the packaged cheap mounting screws and purchase some 2-1/2" deck screws for installation. A guide for the rope route through the "catch" would have been helpful.
Once put together the rack works great! the holes to put the screws in were too small.... after fighting it for a while, i drilled the holes out to make the screws fit. Piain to put together, but once up it's great!
Ok when you buy a rack this cheap you expect to get what this company sends. That being said I bought two and they have securely held my bikes on the van roof. A bit of a heads up the key hole side of the main connection can be flipped around so you can see what your doing.
Product arrived promptly and as expected. It was relatively easy to set up. I used a stud finder to guarantee I mounted it when the ceiling could stand some pressure from the rack. You need to apply a lot of pressure to ensure the rack stays in place. I'm running a 33lb mountain bike in the upper position and a 40lb downhill bike in the lower and the rack is working just fine. My bikes are very big (I'm 6'5") so it took some time rearranging with the hooks to find a placement that worked well for both bikes. I had the rack up and in the right spot in about half an hour. Another half hour to get the hooks in the right spot. Then another half hour when I realized I wanted the whole rack rotated about 15' for better space usage in my hallway.
Since then I haven't moved it. It looks great and seems to work really well.
This rack works great on my truck and on my motorhome. The rack is built from a sturdy steel design that can support a lot of weight.
The only complaint is that mounting 4 adult size bikes is a bit of a challenge because they are very close together. It can be done however.
The most important dimension is not mentioned - the length of the hitch needed. The square section is 3" long, so you need that much sticking out of your receiver to be able to use this. It barely fit for me, which is ideal. It seems very solid, but I have not driven around with it yet.
This product comes with screws (which strip out easily) and wall anchors in case you don't find a stud. Don't use the wall anchors. I did. I put the bike up and the anchors flew out of the wall and the bike fell on top of me. There is a lot of pull straight out on this rack you have to find a stud. If you hang it in the garage and can't install at a stud put a board across tying to two studs.
Got this product not for bikes but to carry a sat. dish on one and a grill on the other.have taken 3 trips with it and has work great.both items weigh more then bikes so i'm sure it would work great for that.
My boyfriend assembled it easily, however the only complaint is that we had to make several adjustments to the bottom screws because it wasn't level. In addition, the bikes in the picture seem to fit perfectly aligned, we had to work the with for awile to ensure it didn't overlap each other...other than that..it's sturdy and a great deal.
We purchased the V-Rack because we wanted to be able to quickly transfer it between our motorhome and SUV, both of which have towing hitches. The V-Rack actually just clamps onto the exterior of the hitch stinger (2-inch), and locks into place, although it naturally takes a pretty substantial force to clamp it closed.
The adjustable frame saddles with rubber strap tie-downs worked beautifully, and the bicycles exhibited no tendency to rock or jiggle while on the road, despite the light-weight appearance of the V-Rack.
I rated the quality as "good" in part because the instructions are a little sketchy about opening the rack completely for installation, a technique I finally figured out myself. Also, if your vehicle has a 1.25 inch hitch stinger, you will need to buy the Advantage adapter, which expands the stinger from 1.25", to 2.0 ", around which the V-Rack then securely clamps.
This rack has completely satisfied us and, just as we hoped, is transferred easily from one vehicle to another. It is definitely a "recommend" from us.
Well made, sturdy and able to handle four bicycles without concern of product failure. The tilt feature is great since I use the hitch on my F-150 Supercrew without obstructing access to the tailgate. I did add some some additional scratch resistant tape to the mounting points considering the kids are not as careful when loading and unloading the bikes.
At almost a third of the price of another manufacturer, this 2-bike pickup rack fits the bill perfectly. Adjustable sizing made it easy to fit my truck, Chevy Colorado, the fact that it has a locking cylinder to keep it secure was a plus, the fork blocks can also be adjusted, side to side, to allow for other cargo to be put into bed of truck with ease.
It came on time, is of high quality. It installed easily and is working fantastic. I installed it on the back of my travel trailer and loaded 3 bikes on it. It is solid and stable- we have travelled over 1000 miles with not problems at all. I would highly recommend it.
I bought this style bike carrier to hopefully be able to use between our Tahoe hitch and possibly a motor home addition when that time came. I spent a long time looking at various bike carriers on the road and also, more importantly to me, the impact those bike carriers had on the vehicles they were mounted on. After seeing many scratch marks on the trunks and fenders of cars and seeing many expensive bikes attached to expensive vehicles with bike pedals goughing into the trunk area and lower back bumpers of cars, I decided on this style carrier. It works great on the Tahoe, easy to install, fits the 2 inch hitch and has the insert to fit a smaller hitch. Keeps the bike far enough away from the SUV to prevent damage. Super easy to lift the bikes on and off the wheel trays and there is no worry that bikes will bouce off or change position. It's been great in that respect. We did end up getting the motor home and it fits the motor home well, however when both bikes are on the rack, the handle bars and the pedals do come in contact with the paint on the motorhome - so we will have to work on "best positioning" of the bikes to prevent exterior damage. That's the only reason for the score of 4. Thanks overstock.
This heavy gauge sturdy bike rack was easy to assemble and will obviously last well. I have no negative comments for this well built rack with ample room for the 4 bikes as advertised, as well as a guest bike or two on either end. Holes are in place for to accommodate the hardware (not included) to secure the frame to the concrete. Should be a great deterrent to bike theft in a high theft community.
The bike rack its self is good, the only problem was that it is VERY heavy. We purchased this to put on our fifth wheel bumper so we could take our bikes camping and with the weight of the bike rack and bikes it ended up bending the bumper on the trailer. However when we use the receiver on the truck it works just fine.
We've had our family bikes (4) sitting on the garage floor taking up so much space since the summer. I was very happy to have found this bike hanger because it was very easy to install, displays our bikes beautifully, and the best space saver! I watched the manufacturers videos on how to install and also followed the directions that it came with. The hangers are very sturdy and well made. I have drywall so all I needed was a stud finder, drill, and a screwdriver.

This has been a great addition to our driveway! Now there is no arguing over where the bikes belong.
This bike rake is perfect for hanging my two bikes. It was easy to install. We love it.
Great Bike Rack
This bike rack is great and I have in our garage and holds both of are bikes well. Easy to move around if needed.
Good, modular bike rack
This is a good rack. I bought 2 and you can set it up for as many, or few, bikes as you'd like by attaching or disconnecting individual units.
