I was actually very surprised when I received this bag, I expected it to have very little pocket space and be pretty much just a hydration bag, but it actually has a good amount of storage space and many more Pockets than I would have expected. Also this backpack is very comfortable, I'm six foot three with broad shoulders and a lot of smaller backpacks just don't feel right on me. But I can easily wear this bag all day long. Another thing I was pretty shocked about when I got my bag was how durable the water bladder is, for such a low price I expected a cheap, thin bladder but I got the opposite. If you are looking to buy a bag like this then I feel very confident in saying you won't be disappointed if you purchase this one. I was very skeptical at first, but now I could not be more happy with my purchase of this backpack. Happy Camping! (or Hiking)
No complaints with the pack, but Overstock sent a different color than the one pictured. The color they sent I could've bought cheaper elsewhere. First time buyer from Overstock and they ruin it from the start. Nice going.
My wife and I saw a Rift at a local store and on first inspection it looked like a great bag. I ordered two from Overstock. I got the Grey and got her the Green. She says she loves hers. I, on the other hand, wish I wouldn't have purchased mine. Overstock's return policy makes it more of a hassle to return then it's worth. There are a few things I dislike heavily about the bag. The flap in the front, unlike traditional messenger bags, doesn't have a full flap cover. I'm talking about the right side of the flap. It is extremely easy for someone to stick their hand in the bag if you don't have the strapped cinched all of the way. Even then I have had a couple of items almost fall out during normal carry. That doesn't give me a good feeling about putting things inside the main compartment. Okay, I can probably live with those issues. The one that is driving me nuts is IT SQUEAKS! Every step I take the darn strap connectors let out a small chirp. Both bags do this!. It's that little "chirp" "chirp" every single step I take that's driving me nuts. This alone will probably make me sell mine on Craigslist or somewhere else. Or is this a defect in the product? Maybe I'll send Overstock a e-mail and ask. So the good.. The bag, aside from squeaking, has the typical Mountainsmith quality. The materials are great. The inner pocket and zippered compartments are great. It's lightweight and the strap is plenty long. The colors are darker in person than shown online and look great. This includes the red stitching and logo. Zippers are pretty good and should be problem free. Overall it's a okay bag. It could have been great but some of the issues above made me go from pure excitement when ordering the bag to just meh after a few days. My recommendation is to look at one in person before buying and make sure this is what you want before placing the order. Robert
