Saw this first at my 2-year old neice's house. All the kids, ages 2-6 were fighting over it. I got it for my three, almost 2 year old grandchildren. I started my Christmas shopping early!
We received this as a first birthday gift for my daughter. First impression was, WOW, it's already put together!! Score! Second impression was, WOW, this is a pretty sturdy wooden construction. Score again! When my daughter used it for the first time we were so happy with it. Unlike some of the other walking toys we have, this one is super easy for her to maneuver and turn. She's able to grab the top bar and pull herself up without me worrying about it tipping over. The wheels roll great, so there was no issue with her walking with it. It definitely did better on the hard wood floor than the carpet though. Overall, I would say this is a great toy. Cons: - The blocks are going to get lost. There is just an low lip edge behind where you put the blocks in. Would have been nice if there was a container for them. We've already lost 1! - Doesn't work well on carpet. It tended to start to tip over (the front) when my daughter tried pushing it on the carpet. So I would say this is better for hard wood or tile floors. - It looks like the mallet is supposed to have a string, but we didn't get one. At least it has a holder, but I see that getting lost at some point too.
