Great fun. Christmas gift for 6-yr-old.
I bought this for my 6-yr-old daughter who says she wants to be a scientist when she grows up. This has provided great one-one-one activity time for the two of us over Christmas break. It definitely requires adult involvement, but all you need is right in the box and in the instruction book. Makes it simple and fun. No extra fuss. We enjoyed making colored jelly crystals, learning about base and acid, and exploding and underwater volcano with baking soda and citric acid and red cabbage powder. It makes a mess, but not too bad. We have been able to do 2 experiments in a 45-minute time frame. We've done the first 8 experiments so far.
Worth the Money!
I have always wanted a Spiro-graph Set since I was a young girl. Now I finally have one, and it's worth it. I can't wait to teach my grand-daughter and my niece how to use these tools to make wonderful pieces of art. I love the fact that all the items fit in a nice sturdy tin. The only down fall is that it doesn't quite have all the spiral discs that the original set came with. But all in all, it is worth the money for the amount of never ending fun you get.
We got this for my son's 10th birthday and he loves it. There are so many things to do in one package. The set comes with safety goggles which he loves to use. (especially for the dino dig-I think he feels like a real scientist) Definately a hit!
