I needed a headboard and nightstand set that fit in a tight space but could accommodate a king bed and allow drawers on either side of the head of the bed to open. This was absolutely perfect. It is sleek and clean looking but very good solid construction and smooth operating drawers. Although they advise against it I was able put it all together and mount it by myself. The hardest part was hanging the center section that was quite heavy. After that is was pretty easy. Just be sure you have a power drill to help with all the screws or you will get an arm tendonitis twisting a screwdriver manually. It took me a full day to finish it. There were a couple of cams and a nut missing but just a quick call to Prepac and they were on their way to me.
Very sturdy. Very useful. Unfortunately, more dorm furniture looking than I had expected. Had I noticed prior to buying it, it is a Prepac item. So, it's something I would not have ordered, having wanted something a little more decorative, and a little less laminate over chip core. It was not difficult to put together, but having two people to assemble it would have made it easier. Definitely need two people to hang it on the wall. Even with it being different than I had planned, I would still recommend the item.
This unit stores a lot of CD's, which what I needed. Had some issues with broken peices from UPS delivery. Prepac customer service is great and very repsonsive about replacing parts. The particle board is easily damaged, and it is important to carefully assemble the unit. Scratches and imperfection on the surface are easily ammeded with the marking pen included. The fron vertical bars do obstruct a couple CD's and make completily filling the shelf unpractical. Reasonable price for practical and abundant CD storage.
I ordered this along with the Prepac SOHO Washed Ebony Floating Hutch, and got exactly what I expected. The material is durable and looks nice for the price you're paying. No complaints on quality here. My only complaint would be the way they have you mount the piece to the wall. They give you three allen screws and then ask you to use your own drill/drill bit to pre-drill the holes before hand-cranking the screws into them. It's kind of a joke. After drilling the holes and spending a half hour murdering my wrist/hand trying to crank the screws into the holes, I finally just got up and went to Menard's and picked up three new screws. I went home and had the new screws drilled into my wall in 5 minutes, and the furniture hung just fine.
