This carrier is perfect for my 23 pound Maine Coon cat. Purchased this after we got sick and tired wrestling him into our old hard side carrier. He still hates going into the carrier because he knows he's going to the vet. But now he can easily be slipped into the carrier from the top and then he has plenty of room to move around in the carrier. Plus he can see all around through the screens.
I purchased this carrier on another site however they don't have a review option so after reading a few negative reviews here I thought I'd add my own review. This bag is obviously meant for a small dog or pet. My chihuahua was 9 lbs when I first purchase this. She's always fit perfectly well and feels safe and secure inside. She's lost a couple of pounds now and is a senior dog who goes to the vet at least 1 every 2 months due to health issues. This bag zips open so that you can store it flat with a strip of velcro to hold the folded bag closed. The insert sheepskin mat is wonderful and the bag is very easy to clean not to mention now many compliments I receive about how cute it is. I gave this carrier an excellent rating which I almost never give anything. As long as you pay attention to the measurements you can't go wrong with this item.
This carrier has mesh on four sides and the top -- the cat can see out much better. Carrier is lightweight, zippers are easy to use. Can unzip the litle top 'trap door' to slip my hand in to give a reassuring ear-rub and pet. This carrier's GREAT for those cats that all but velcro themselves to the inside of the carrier when you're trying to get them out at the vet's office. Just unzip the zide and voila, they're out! I liked this carrier so much I bought four of them and can get four cats in my two-seater when it's dental month at the vet's. People at the vet's office just oohed and aahed over the carriers and asked where I got them.
I needed a carrier for my 23 lb. cat since he has to go to the vet fairly often. It was getting too hard for me to carry him in a regular carrier so I was happy to find one with wheels. It's much easier to put my cat into this carrier than into a traditional rectangular one since it can be loaded from the top. He doesn't mind going into it and has plenty of room inside with large mesh windows in the front and on each side. I do wish the bottom was made of something stiffer so that it wouldn't push up on the cat when I lift it into the car, but since it's also designed to be used as a backpack I realize the bottom has to be rather soft. I cut off the straps since I knew I wouldn't be using it as a backpack.
