These are well made stairs that will hold up for a long time. My older 22 lb. male cat loves the stairs that I've placed close to his elevated feeding station and often chooses to "roost" on the top stair. While I have seen him scratch a bit on the top stair, he still prefers his carpeted cat scratcher for that purpose.
LOVE.We have 2 of these now for our elderly pets, but even the younger pets use.Easy to set up. More sturdy than you'd think. Carpeted stair trends allow for more traction than just wood. We have a taller / higher bed and still worked great.
Our 13-pound dog is nervous about using the stairs because they do not stay still as she climbs up. The bottom steps are quite stable but the 3rd and 4th jiggle under her and she doesn't like it. The stairs look as pictured and were easy to assemble, but the 4-step structure just isn't as stable as it should be. We are hoping our dog will eventually get accustomed to the jiggling and be happy to use the stairs.
