These gates fold up nice and thin and tuck away behind the desk when not in use. They are easy to open and can be cleaned off with a damp cloth. I recommend these gates.
This gate is people friendly as you can just walk over and the dog cannot. I do have rat terriers, so a large dog may not be stopped. I got tired of taller gates that I had to constantly open to pass through.
I needed a few dog gates when we got our new pup. I first purchased the "Carlson Extra-tall Walk Through Pet Gate" which I have also reviewed on Overstock. It worked, but it's a little difficult to put together, plus there were other challenges with it. Not wanting to make that mistake again, I purchased this Flexi Walk Through Gate. Much better. We did not attach the gate to the wall. There's no reason to, since it stands alone, and why put a hole in your wall if you don't have to (our dog isn't smart enough to know he can just knock it over). Plus, we sometimes move the gate when we want to keep our dog in a different room, or prevent him from going up the stairs. It's great to have the flexibility of just folding up the gate, picking it up, and moving it. The little plastic tabs that are supposed to be used to attach the gate to the wall do look a little messy just flopping around on the sides of the gate, but there's nothing that can be done about that, and it doesn't affect the performance of the gate. I definitely recommend this over the Walk Through Gate, unless you need the extra height.
