I search several sites to purchase dog clippers and many reviews stated that most clippers did not seem to durable. But so far, (I have used them twice) they have worked pretty well. I use them to trim my border collies hair, lightly, so they have done the trick, as I am removing so little hair. I use to keep her legs and tail from getting tangled. They are not too loud so she seems to deal with the process well. If they last I would give them a 5 star rating.
We have a young, very wooly cock-a-poo, and this was the first time we clipped her. Years ago I had the top-of-the-line professional clippers that I used on a cocker spaniel for several years. These probably aren't quite up to that level of quality, but much closer than you'd think for the price. If they hold up and stay sharp I'll be thrilled. They were quiet enough not to worry the dog too much, but I had my husband hold her still because I wasn't sure what she'd do. I'd recommend having a helper, especially if you've never trimmed a dog. I was especially pleased with the quality of the little scissors that were included with this kit. They were absolutely essential for getting the hair on her brow, around the lower edge of her ears and around her muzzle just the way I wanted it, and seem designed to be very safe. Good scissors are expensive, so this was a very nice bonus. The video that came with these was extremely detailed and helpful.
