I bought this bed to replace one of the cedar chip ones I got in a big box store that my Am Staff had worn out. My other dog is a 13 year old Newfoundland with arthritis and he has an orthopedic bed, so I thought this bed would be good for him too since it was memory foam. This bed does not feel like it is memory foam and is way less comfortable than the orthopedic one I bought, but with that being said my dogs love this bed and that is the important part. It is still good quality and shipped on time. It is also a good size as it does fit my Newfie comfortably, who is a runt weighing in at 100 pounds.
My dog seems very happy with this bed. I love the chopped memory foam. It think these beds give more support than fiber filled and more comfort than the feeling of being on a sponge that a block of memory foam brings. My only complaint is that something in the cover crinkles. It's probably a waterproof layer designed to protect the inner material, but it can be a little noisy in the bedroom when you're going to sleep. You probably wouldn't notice if the bed were somewhere else in the house.
I ordered this bed for my German shepherd's Vari-kennel. It is a perfect fit. The cover is really nice-almost a suede feel to it. It is, however, much harder than most memory foam beds I have bought here and I think that is because it is pieces of memory foam instead of a solid sheet of foam. I have three German Shepherds and only one seems to like this bed.
Am always skeptical when buying pet beds, because I have really high standards. This was a really nice bed for the price. I have a large dog, about 55 pounds and my dog doesn't feel the floor when sleeping on it, so it is thick and soft enough.
