This is a good concept. But I think that it would only work well in very specific cases. It didn't work for us because it was too hard to keep clean and the "grass" began shedding after a few washes. It would work best as an outside (maybe on a patio or balcony) arrangement where you could go longer without washing.
This product was just what I had hoped it would be. It is not ideal when you move into a condo from a home that had a fenced in yard. This is probably the best you are going to get when your dogs cannot go into a safe enclosed yard. I plan on only relying on this during the winter months when walking outside in deep snow or frigid temperatures is not acceptable. I put a liner in the tray which keeps the tray dry and clean. I take the grass to the quarter car wash and use the pressure cleaner. It does a great job but you still need to hang them until they are dry before re-using. The liners I merely throw out and replace with new ones. It does really mean, however, that you need an extra grass mat while the other one is drying. The dogs have no problem using them. It has been an exceptional answer to a very difficult problem.
If you own a dog, you need one of these if for nothing else but emergencies. My dogs go outside in a fenced in backyard, but on rainly days to keep down the muddy tracks of 24 little paws, I let them use this grassy pad. It is great. Best purchase I have made since becoming mama to these 6 little children. You will not be sorry.
