I was able to put this doghouse together by myself using just a phillips head screwdriver. The holes were pre-drilled so that helped putting it together. The materials used are of a good quality, so I think it will hold up for quite some time. The only reason why I rated it with 4 stars instead of 5 is that the floor boards have gaps where they don't quite line up properly. It might not be much of an issue since I am planning on putting a blanket down on the floor, but my reason for buying it was to provide a warm shelter for the feral cats who are now living in my backyard. The boards that make up the sides of the dog house, line up properly and have no gaps in between them.
I ordered 2, at first we received only 1 box, with the sides and bottom, it took 3 more days to get the rest of the pieces. Just be aware,it takes 2 pretty large boxes per dog house. They seem fairly sturdy, my largest dog, 100+ lbs is laying on top like he usually does and it is supporting him. Was not here when they were put together, but my husband said it was stupid easy. I would not consider them for actually keeping a dog warm, the hollow plastic really does not do anything but block wind and rain.
So far our dog Bear hasn't gone in his new dog house, at east I haven't seen him go in it yet, but it seems to be well made, we did leave the porch off & the extended pat of the roof off, because he has a kennel with a covered canvas top on it, so he won't get wet, & it also had an raised floor so he really doesn't need the porch on the dog house. It is a pretty awesome dog house.
