  • Awesome Aquarium Stand
    Verified Purchase

I purchased this aquarium stand after seeing it elsewhere for almost $100.00 more. Shipping these large, heavy items is always a delivery problem as they tend to get beat up in transit. Two delivery attempts with another online vender ended up being totally destroyed in transit due to poor packaging. After reading a review for this stand describing the multiple boxing provided by Overstock, I decided to give it a try. It arrived quickly and you can't beat the free shipping from Overstock. On top of that no sales tax added to the final cost. The package is heavy and it arrived with some minor box dings but no major holes or dents. The stand was quadruple boxed, one big outside box, one inside smaller box wrapped in another box, and finally the parts boxes with metal and wood parts in separate boxes. Also included for protection is the standard foam corners and sleeves. The metal stand is sturdy, heavy and is a cinch to put together. I took me less than 1/2 hour to put the metal stand together without any help. Included is the hex wrench you need to put the metal stand together. The wood shelving is a bit more involved but not at all difficult. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to put the wood parts together. Please follow the instruction manual steps for the wood build as it requires that one piece be inverted for proper installation. Also, instructions call for dowels to be inserted into the smaller side and center pieces. I found it difficult to align the dowel holes on the larger bottom piece to that of the smaller pieces. I reversed this process and placed the dowels on the larger piece and was able to align it much easier with the smaller pieces using this method. It is also helpful to use a Phillips screwdriver of a larger size as it will give you the leverage to screw in the six long wood screws without breaking a sweat or getting a blister on your hand. Once put together the stand is super strong and sturdy and may require two people to move it into your desired location due to its weight. On a final note, the stand does NOT come with leg levelers as the description states. The leg bottoms are covered with a thin rubber foam which prevents the metal legs from sliding. This should not be a deal breaker for anybody wanting to purchase this stand. It looks great (even better than the provided image), it's easy to assemble, and gives you both the satisfaction and peace of mind that your aquarium inhabitants are safe having a solid foundation under them.

  • Even better than expected

The picture doesn't do it justice. It is very sturdy and has lots of storage space. It was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. My 19 year old daughter assembled it by herself with no problem and is delighted with the way it looks and functions.

  • Design concept is good. Missing a plastic part.

Appears well finished , but not sure of the strength of the wood in the long term especially after exposure to moisture. This is after all a fish tank stand. One problem tools that one of the plastic pieces that is used to join the two main wood boards was missing.

  • Very Nice Sturdy Stand!
    Verified Purchase

This stand is beautiful! Very attractive and sturdy. It was VERY well packaged (a box inside a box inside a box) and therefore arrived undamaged. It was easy to assemble, but you cannot use power tools. You won't need any until you have to put in the 8 long screws. They are hard to hand tighten, but well worth the effort. I highly recommend this stand for a 50/55 gallon tank.
