The end table is sturdy, well made & has a very nice finish. Blends perfectly with our mahogany & dark cherry furniture. Our French Bulldog fits in very well. She has plenty of room. We used a thick orthopedic mattress & she still has lots of room to stand up or lay down, she enjoys stretching all the way out.
I spent many hours looking at kennels in the stores and many more hours researching them online. Reviews for brands other than Precision Pet said the same thing, flimsy, dog got out after a couple of days, welds broke, wires bent, too small, etc. Precision Pet reviews consistently said high quality, satisfied, strong, etc. I love this kennel with the three openings, wire divider for puppies, beautiful hammered copper finish, etc. It is very well made, easy to assemble, and is very sturdy. While our Portuguese Water Dog is only going to be 50 pounds we ordered the 6000 so she would have plenty of room to move around. The breeder said to go as big as you have room for. Overstock.com was almost $100 cheaper than any other site so I could get the bigger one for the same price as a smaller one from another company.
This kennel is all wood and makes a decent end table. It is not suitable for an unattended chewer! It holds up well for our purpose which is to corral an overly energetic dog, especially, when someone comes into our home. This allows the dog to be in our company but behaviors are limited. It is not sturdy enough to use as you would one of the more secure crates available. A word of caution. We purchased the large kennel for our 60 pound dogs. I measured the space before ordering. It does fit; however, the reality of the kennel is that it is large! It is higher than a traditional end table. Thank goodness I measured before ordering as it took up every inch of space. Our dogs can stand up and lay down without being cramped. This kennel will only hold one dog! For the money, it could be finished a bit better. Would purchase again.
I purchased the large dog crate in espresso finish. It was easy to assemble, and looks very nice in my living room. Once I placed a lamp on top and framed photographs it became almost hard to recognize as a dog crate. I am very happy that o.co had this in stock and at a much better price than I've seen elsewhere. Just had a Christmas party and all were impressed that it was a dog crate and not some sort of over large mission style end table. Now I have to convince my Weimaraner that she will "love" this crate as much as her big ugly plastic one and hope that she does not fritter away the hours frantically chewing the "bars." I'm a little concerned about the latching system. I'm not that convinced that it will be strong enough to contain her and her wily ways.
