This bird cage is beautiful! Everyone that sees it, comments on how pretty it is and then asks how much I paid for it. Yes, it looks super expensive. It was a bit more than a wire and plastic cage, but the beauty definitely makes it worth the difference. It cleans pretty easily and seems to be holding up quite well.
This is a beautiful cage but the food and water cups have a really stupid design. In order to lock them into place, you have to turn them sideways to fit the clamp in between the bars of the cage, then you turn them 90 degrees and they lock into place. This means every time you go to change the food and water, you will spill seed/water into the cage. How did they not figure this was a flawed design? Other than that, it's a very nice cage.
I have two parakeets and they love the freedom to fly around their cage. I still let them out to get some longer flying time, but they do not want to stay out for the hours that they needed with a smaller cage. That being said there was some problems with the cage and how hard it is for one person to put it together. The main problem with the cage is that some of the solder points on the cage bars came loose; particularly, near the many doors. The many doors are needed to reach into all the areas of the cage. I had to re solder 4 or 5 points to make the cage safe for my birds. The next problem was with the cups provided with the cage: one had the clips broken off, and because the bar spacing is not even it is difficult to find a set of bars that the cups fit into. Finally, the bottom of the cage has a tray and a grate on it. I cannot take them both out at the same time to take them outside to clean them. One part at a time is the only way to clean them. When the grate is removed there is a rather large gap between the cage bottom and the bottom bar of the cage; I would be careful of having small birds like finches in the cage because this is an escape point when cleaning the cage. I worry that my parakeets will discover it.
