I put this together by myself...in the room it will be staying. I suggest you put a rug down on the floor under it if you have wood floors. I did a small bit of scratching on my wood floors when it was upside down. I am female and 68 and it was not hard to put together...but I am used to putting things together. Nothing so heavy you can't lift it in separate pieces. Just follow the directions...which are quite good. Got it together rather easily. Comes in 3 boxes...which are sizable...one being the table top. And LOTS of Styrofoam. Well packed and nothing was dented or bent. I was very happy that EVERY SINGLE screw was lined up perfectly with the components. That is unusual...having had problem with many other things. The table top is DARK...like walnut...and not light as shown in the photos. I was happy with that. Metal parts are painted a matte metallic-ish silver so they are easy to just dust and not shine. This rolls very easily on large wheels. Be mindful of where you put the locking wheels...they are the first things you put on. There is wrench for those...which I found after putting them on with my own wrench. Includes an extra screw for each screw size and hex wrenches in 3 sizes for the screws. They all work very well. This is one of the BEST purchases I have made recently. VERY happy with the table. Highly recommend it. Follow directions page by page and in order. It all falls into place. Except for 4 pieces of MA. I have no idea what they are for and have asked a question to find out. I hope they will answer on this page. MAs self stick to something. It is not clear what they are or what they are for or if they are even necessary.
Been using this furniture for about a month now. My spare bedroom is multi-purposed, so I set up the unit as an L shaped desk and a stand alone desk. I use the collaboration desk for my primary desk, a purpose it excels at due to the extra depth of the desktop. With a 28" wide-format monitor and the keyboard tray attached, there is plenty of room for manuals, binders and legal pads. The L shaped desk serves as the desk for my personal computer. and I use the surface under the hutch to house a color laser printer, and use the hutch for typical office supply storage. Very pleased with the way it works for me, but there are two pretty big cons that detract from this being an excellent purchase: 1). The drawers under the hutch are complete crap, with only about 3" of storage height in the top two. 2). The drawers also do not line up, and make it obvious that this isn't a quality product. The doors on the hutch are similar, but at least they can be adjusted, and made to hang in a fairly uniform manner. I would recommend buying the unit especially if you can avoid getting the filing cabinet. The saving grace of this system is the desk surface, which is very good.
Got this to replace a file drawer cabinate that fit under my desk. This fit perfectly (without the wheels) and has two drawers, plus a small top drawer for office supplies. The only con is that it tends to tip forward a bit. To be fair, I havent filled it yet, so that may resolve the issue. Overall I'm happy with it. And you can't beat the price!
