I work from home and really needed something bigger. I've seen similar set-ups at furniture stores before, but could only dream of something like this as it was not affordable. When I saw this, I could not believe it! The quality is excellent. Drawers line up for me (saw someone else post that the drawers did not line up - I had no problems). Putting it together was pretty easy. I started by myself, but at some point 2 people are necessary. There were several pieces (Part #: TI-552), that were plastic and needed to be forced into holes with a hammer. They are slanted on top where the hammer hits, so it isn't easy to get them in and on one the top broke off while the bottom part was already almost all the way stuck in the wood. We couldn't get the broken piece out of the wood, but we were able to work around it, but I wish they would use metal for those. So be careful with those. That is the only complaint. Otherwise it is so awesome. I have so much room now. There is plenty of room in the center for a large computer chair to turn all the way around. And I love the lock on the drawers. I don't need it, but I still think its cool. I simply love my desk and can recommend it to anyone that needs something with a lot of space! My dogs love it too!!! Plenty of room for them to sleep by my feet without me stepping on them! lol.
This is probably an ok purchase for a home office. I definitely would not recommend it for a commercial office setting. The desktops are thin and wobble with any pressure or weight. I suspect they will sag pretty badly within a year or so. Other office furniture I have purchased is about 50% thicker. When I read the description, I was fooled by the "commercial finish" reference, and the "1" thick top. I would definitely recommend spending an extra couple hundred dollars to get a better quality product. For those of you who read reviews and always attribute the problems to idiots who cannot put something together correctly, I have more than 15 years experience in construction, ranging from furniture to houses. The finish is closer to red and black, than mahogany. The picture online is not even close. The desk is much darker. Also, mine came without the pedestal/credenza - it wasn't within the box labeled "Hutch" much to my dismay. The instructions are aweful. It wasn't a problem for me, but for someone who has never put together box furniture, it may be frustrating.
It is very sturdy and looks great! The holes for the wiring don't make sense, on the top surfaces they are on the outside of the privacy skirt, they should be on the inside so you don't have cables running back and forth and showing. The instructions were a bit complicated, each section of the desk came with it's own instructions and wen you moved on to the next part you had to remove pieces that you were told to add in the previous part??? I know they do that because not everyone purchases the complete set but it's a pain. There were also no predrilled holes for the return.
