I didn't want to have a plastic chair mat in my bedroom office, so these were my solution. I don't know how they'd fit on another brand, but they are flawless on my Boss task chair. This makes the chair stationary, as the description says. I think they would more accurately be described as "stationary feet" rather than glides. :) Though it's do-able, the weight of the chair makes it awkward to slide away from the desk. My solution was to purchase Magic Sliders (2-3/8" concave disks- product #04600) and slip those on. Much easier to move now! (Tip: If you buy the Magic Sliders, you'll need two packages as they come 4 to a package and the chair has 5 legs). I'm happy!
I wanted to get rid of the ugly plastic mat on the floor under my office chair. Swivel caster rollers can ruin the carpet, but with these replacement glides there is no need for the plastic mat. PERFECT SOLUTION! My chair now slides on the carpet and I don't have the ugly plastic mat anymore. Big Yay!!!! Very simple to install, just pull off your casters and push the glides on. Before ordering I measured the stems on my casters and these were a match at 3/8 inch diameter and 7/8 inches high. I do not have a Boss brand chair but they fit perfectly on my chair. Just make sure you measure yours as some office chairs have different size stems. I was not happy with the shipping. This is mostly due to UPS as the tracking # showed that they were on the truck and "out for delivery" and remained in that status for 3 days before UPS delivered them. It turns out the were delayed because they had to wait for the elephant to come back from vacation and sit on it. The box was completely crushed and I was nervous that the contents would be damaged. I opened the box to find the glides were in a plastic bag and no other packing material. Overstock definitely could have done a better job packing them. Fortunately they were not broken and not a scratch on them. My wife tried them out and she liked them as well so I just ordered another set for her chair. Will have to wait and see if Overstock packs them better and if UPS can manage not to crush the box.
