The design of this printer stand is awesome.I saw complaints that it rocks with some printers but I haven't experienced that. I would say make sure your printer isn't to big for the stand itself, make sure the floor in the area is level easy nuff yes? Stand was easy and simple to put together, wish it was a bit taller though. But it works for us.
This is a heavy duty type library cart. I purchased it to use in my studio to organize trims. It helps to have two people to put it together. Unfortunately a few pieces arrived bent (occurred in shipping). We were able to still use the pieces but one panel lost some of its paint when we had to bend it back to get it to fit together. Thankfully it was towards the bottom. I will most likely put a piece of black electrical tape over that area to prevent further paint peeling or rusting. Wheels are also heavy duty which makes moving the cart fairly easy.
When shopping for a solution for a roll around computer cart for my recording studio this Balt Beta Sit/Stand Workstation stood out in terms of features, build quality, function and price. First of all, the base unit is very sturdy and durable enough to withstand day to day use. I was impressed by the quality of the parts and how well they fit together. The system itself has flexibility in terms of making it a tall workstation for standing or a shorter one for sitting. Unfortunately, it is difficult to switch from one mode to the other. You would need to partially disassemble it to convert from one position to the other. It's not a problem if you commit to one and leave it. My only other gripe is that the monitor tilt and swing adjustment is factory set to provide just enough friction to keep it from moving. Unfortunately, they did not include twist locks to adjust friction. It seems to hold fine but I am weary of the monitor mount loosening up over time if adjusted constantly. They obviously cut corners with the mounting system. Also, the VESA compatible mount did not fit my Dell monitor perfectly. They included extra mounting hardware which helped get the monitor secure with longer screws and washers. Also, the keyboard tray swings freely left and right and the extension arm also pivots making the tray slightly unstable. I wish they would have included twist lock down knobs to securely keep the tray from moving. By default it feels rather loose and wiggly while you use the keyboard or mouse and it likes to move away from you as you type. Very annoying if you want a steady platform for your keyboard and mouse. Overall, they built and designed a nice product especially for the price. If they offered more secure options for both the monitor arm and keyboard tray such as locking tightening knobs, I would rate this product a perfect 5 stars. Because of it's shortcomings I can only give it a 3 stars. It looks amazing, rolls smoothly and has a solid base. If Balt were to provide optional trays and mounts with solid locking arms (not just friction tight) they would have an amazing product that could compete with other carts 4 times its price. I am happy with my purchase but I am also weary of how long the monitor and keyboard arms will hold up before becoming overly loose and ultimately useless. Time will tell. There is no way to tighten them up once they become loose. I would only recommend this product to someone who is gentle with it and will not move it from room to room as the product literature suggests.
It took about 5 minutes to assemble this product due to the good design of the parts. I think the price is relatively high compared to the quality of the stand, but I got a decent mobile printer stand in 5 minutes and the time I DIDN'T waste putting it together is worth far more than what I paid for it.
