Bought this for my son's 14 birthday the first week of December. He loves it! He likes the look and feel of it & that it's gripped for more control. He also likes that he can move to his laptop when his younger siblings take over the XBOX, and he uses the Bluetooth feature to play most of his Xbox games on his pc. Some games he says are too high quality (and we don't have a gaming pc that's up to speed).
My children love the Hot Dots alphabet cards. I am a pediatric occupational therapist and it is a great activity to work on grasping, visual discrimination, letter recognition, form constancy, and visual motor integration skills. For parents it is a great activity to work on independent learning and play, as the pen provides feedback as to whether or not the chosen answer is correct. My kids love when it lights up and makes a sound. If you want to do this activity in a quiet area, you can even turn the sound off and just see red or green lights to notify the child if the chosen answer is correct. The only thing I would change would be to have an option to only provide positive feedback (lights and sound) when the chosen answer is correct versus providing lights and sound for incorrect answers as well. I believe this would encourage increased attention to the task in a more desperate attempt to receive the auditory and visual feedback on the first attempt. Overall, I would recommend this product!
