The weight of the carton promised a sturdy desk and, after following the clear assembly instructions, that is what I had. It can be used left or right handed and works well with my Stressless recliner in the living room. My wife can watch TV while I can do some work or read and we spend more time together as a result. The desk has a very nice finish and blends in well with the existing furniture. I highly recommend this versatile desk and it is a great bargain to boot.
I love this table, you can actually adjust the height without having to take everything of it! It looks very nicely finished, not cheap and tacky like a lot of adjustable laptop table. The bottom is wide enought to serve as a leg rest without hurting and the single leg stand at the back makes it so one's knee is not always knocking into the legs of the table. I only wished it was a tad wider and that there was a bar of something at the back to prevent things from dropping off. Overall, ths is definitely the BEST laptop table I have ever bought. And, I have tried at least a dozen (no exaggeration!)
I bought this for my home office/woman cave craft room, to put my laptop on. The room has carpet and the heaviness of the metal base makes it quite hard to move around but it is solid and well made. My vision is better from about 2 feet away so I converted this to using the length as the front and my mouse stand directly in front of me. Not exactly ideal for this stand because it is hard to get the table exactly level because of it's ability to pivot up and down but that's my problem. I give this 4 stars for those reasons. I'd give it 5 if I were to use it as it is intended. It is well made and not bad to look at. The mouse stand is so small that I added my own shelf using a clamp, because I like to have room to take notes etc. Having said that, the clamp has not caused the finish to scratch or peel which is surprising, so go for it. It's nice.
Great table. Instructions are awful as it's usual with these types of product. Here is what you need to do to finish: After the unit is assembled: 1. adjust the bottom screws where the spring are. As this is what gives the center column the spring to move the shaft up and down via the springs. 2. The pin at the bottom of the black adjustable laptop stand needs to come up. 3. Remove the pin that is attached to the know at the bottom of the base where the top pin fits into. NOTE: The bottom pin is held in place by a nut and screw (make sure to remove this pin. 4. When you remove the pin you'll notice a slot on the pin. That is where the nut and screw you just removed will fit into in order to allow the bottom knob to turn so that the unit can move the black laptop can adjust up and down. 5. Take the pin from the bottom and slide it in (note the threaded opening. Also place the pin from the top black stand (note the threads on the pin. These two screw into each other. Once you get them screwed in place. Add the nut and screw holding pin into the slot I mentioned above. There, now everything will work just fine.
