Story Behind the Art:
India's Asha Prabha says, 'I was born in 1948 to a conservative family in Delhi. A girl had to know how to cook, sew, embroider and all the other household chores. I started teaching sewing and embroidery to younger generations, including my two daughters and my neighbors. As the number of students grew, so did the demand for our work.'
