I have several of these (in both fine and medium point) and they are one of my favorite fountain pens. They are handsome, sturdy, comfortable to hold and write with, have good, smooth nibs, and are generally great everyday writers. They even come with a converter so you can use bottled ink! The only thing I would not recommend is buying them on this site, since I've never seen them anywhere, not even at overpriced pen specialty stores, at anything approaching this cost! Look around for a better deal.
I purchased this pen as one of Husband's Fathers day gifts. I tried it to be sure it had no defect and not a one. I wrote 4 words and ink dried instantly and didn't even smear ad I rubbed my finger across it. Awesome!!
If you're seeking an entry level fountain pen I'd look elsewhere. 1- the Pilot Metropolitan is a great starter fountain pen. However there are other choices at about the same price point with interchangeable parts, which are a better value long term. I've been through a few of these and have a light hand, but just a few months of writing or one roll off the desk into the floor damages the nib, then you have to buy a whole new pen. 2-Overstock's price on this is absurdly high, and the selection is absurdly small. The product descriptions are also really poor and often inaccurate, and calling them doesn't help sort out the details.
