Once assembled this is a very good spacious desk that has a luxurious feel at a bargain price. A few caveats are that this is absolutely a two person job, maybe three as once the bottom portion is assembled, the top (which is quite heavy) has to be lifted and placed onto the base. It's basically just held together with dowels and those metal twisty screws that are common with Ikea furniture. I added some carpenters glue for peace of mind and thus far it's been a great product. I have two desktop computers and two monitors on it and there have been no problems.
Upon setting up delivery, the delivery driver said he would push the box to the back of the truck. I was fairly busy that day, so I had my office staff come by my house and unload the truck. The delivery driver ended up helping my two men carry up the desk. So, be forewarned, they won't carry this to your front door step and slide it inside (like I had planned). It is very heavy. My men carried it to my garage. I had no problem opening up the box and carrying piece by piece up to my office. The hardware alone probably weighs 20 LBS. I was impressed when holding the metal drawer slides. They are heavy duty and will last. For the most part, all the holes line up properly. The only difficulty is putting together the drawers. BUT, it is easy if you loosely screw in the screw to the sides, and loosely screw into the front. Then tighten them all up. This is only like this on the drawers. If you put it together this way, it will work. If you do not, you will end up not being able to tighten all the screws. Once you have this put together, lock the drawers, and have a friend help you tip it over. I am impressed with having two key sets. One for the left drawers, one for the right drawers. The desktop is solid. Your not scratching it, so don't worry.
There was a snafu getting all the parts to this desk. Once I connected with Customer Service I got the missing part within 2 days. Great service from that O'Stock department!!! This desk more than meets our needs-once it was put together. I had to hire a handyman to do it after I just lost patience with the instructions. He had to get a buddy in to help him lift the desktop into place. The overhang on the top allows customers leg room, and my staff has plenty of leg room even with the pull-out for the computer keyboard. The locking file drawer is great. Its large desktop allows for generous "spread-out room." It's a good Bordeaux wine color with a medium grey accent. Quite a modern look.
We got this table for over 2 weeks now. It is a very nice warm cherry tone which matches the red paint in our den nicely. It is a heavy table with the top piece being 150lbs. Moving it from the first floor to the second floor den wasn't an easy task. When laying the top piece down, you will need to align all the holes with the screws, this is a 2 person job. A 3rd person being present is highly recommended. After it was all set up, it looks quite nice and doesn't look cheap at all. No drawers or file cabinets, of course, but that gives you a lot of leg room. There are pre-drilled screw holes in place. I'm assuming these are for attaching drawers or file cabinets though I'm not sure where to get them.
