The price was good for what the chair offers. Shipping was really fast and it arrived in perfect condition. Assembly was not difficult: I did it by myself in under two hours with just the included hex wrench and a crescent wrench. The biggest challenge was separating the parts from the abundant packing material. The second biggest challenge was putting the screws through the frame into the holes in the armrests. The extra hardware items (screws, etc.) were thoughtful but not needed. All the functions (vibrate, heat, recline) work well and the microfiber and other materials seem to be of good quality. The wooden bases on the chair and ottoman are upscale looking. The chair does sit low to the ground for anyone six feet or taller. I built a four inch tall platform under the chair (not the ottoman), which made it much more comfortable. The swivel mechanism feels a little grainy - some WD40 will probably help that. A large person would find it a bit cozy between the armrests. It's worth at least four stars, but having to supply the extra work and materials to raise it to a realistic height keep me from rating it at the five star level.
Color: - I saw someone ask a question about the color of the white chair, which looks more creamy/beige online than white. The manufacturer replied that it is in fact more of a cream color, which is why I purchased this. I received it in the mail today, and unfortunately, it is unmistakably white. I wanted a faint cream colored chair to match my decor, and this may not be the one for me. I have a new desk due to arrive in a few days, so hopefully it'll look good together. Otherwise I'll be returning it. Arms: - Also, the arms that are pictured for this chair are not the arms I received. I received Y-shaped arms that only attach to the seat of the chair, and not the back, as the picture indicates. This isn't a deal breaker although the flat bar arms would've matched the legs on a desk I'm expecting to arrive soon, but I thought other shoppers would like to know they may not receive what they see. Defects: - The metal star base of the chair (the part that has all the wheels attached) arrived with minor dents on the top of each cog. This also isn't a deal breaker because you don't notice it once the chair is put together. Size: - The chair is much wider than expected. I'm not petite, but I am a slim/average sized woman and there's more than enough room in this seat. When I sit, there's a good 3-4 inches of the seat completely visible. This isn't a negative, just an FYI. Installation: - Putting it together was fairly easy except for when I tried to attach the back to the seat. On first attempt, I thought the metal bar that comes attached to the back was too short to reach the screw holes on the bottom of the chair, but I found success by screwing the holes that are farthest from the back first. To do this I had to tilt the back as if I were meant to be assembled in a reclining position. Once I got the two screws in far enough by hand to prevent them from slipping out, I pushed the seat down so that the corners would line up. The trick is that the cushion between the back and the seat have to be squeezed together snuggly to fit. Overall: - The seat adjustments work as expected, it's comfortable to sit in at my weight (it may not have enough cushion for heavier customers), and it is a pretty chair despite the color and the arms. So hopefully I won't have to disassemble it and return it next week.
This chair was easy to assemble and is quite nice. I only gave 4 stars because I have only used it about one month and will update later to rate the durability. My husband is the main user of this chair and he is built like a linebacker in football and he loves it thus far.
