I've had this chair for a couple of days now, and these are my first impressions. If you're small, you're going to get lost in this bad boy. I'm 6'3" and 220 lbs, and for me it's great. The furniture frame material description on Overstock is misleading - it indicates that it is all plastic - not true - the frame is mostly steel. The chair arrived in a very solid box and was very well packaged. For me that was an indication of professionalism from the start. The chair itself is no lightweight, it weighs 50 lbs and is most definitely a quality product. The instructions were straight forward, and I put it together in 15-20 minutes. Like I said earlier, this is a big chair. The tilt locking mechanism is great. I often like to sit with the chair back fixed, and this one allows for this with no issue. The tilting option is also really comfortable I have to say - it is very firm - you won't go flying over backwards if you're into leaning. The lumbar support seems good, I don't have back issues, but I can safely say that it's really comfortable to sit in all day, and if you're so inclined, you can move the lumbar support bar up and down - with the right Allen keys. The arms on this chair might bother some people. They are pretty widely spaced apart, so a petite lady might find them of little use. I like the folding facility, as it enables me to push the chair in further under my desk, thereby minimizing its footprint, but aside from that they can't be adjusted. I'm fairly broad, so for me I lucked out, it's almost like it was designed for me. A word of warning though. If you intend using this chair on a carpeted floor, be advised that my carpet is getting chewed up by the wheels. I'm having to order a chair mat - probably normal practice I suppose. This chair would be perfect on hardwood flooring. All-in-all, I'm very impressed. What do you spend on a good chair? $65, $100, $1,000? I guess it all depends on your bank balance, or how tight you are. My company recently upgraded all its office furniture, and I checked the cost of the chairs online. Evidently they were in the region of $1,200 each - (I'd love to have had the sales person's commission for that contract). To me, $*for a home office chair is probably a bit much, but I'm also a big believer in quality, so I'm dubious of anything under $200 (which is probably stupid). Anyway, I did a lot or research, and this seemed like a good deal, significantly cheaper than on Amazon, and although there weren't too many reviews, I'd seem some others for similar chairs made by the same company. I can safely say I have no post purchase dissonance. This chair is a keeper!
This chair is the right solution for our needs and our budget. Comfortable & supportive it helps to keep you alert for the working hours— ideal for management and task-oriented desks. A solid alternative to the similar high-end ergonomic mesh chairs in the "sitting machine" category. If you have the money to go with the higher-end in the category, you won't be disappointed. But, for the majority of budget-conscious and productivity-driven professionals out there, this is a great value.
The chair does exactly what it functionally describes it will do. The assembly was easy to follow when all the pieces are available. Comfortable and ergonomic to the body.
