This is a very nice desk for the price. It's a bit small but can fit a laptop comfortably and I bought the matching bookcase for more storage space. The two look good together and is optimal for smaller spaces. Clean contemporary look. Just be careful when assembling as the screws can cause the particle board to split if not done carefully... I had to get a replacement board due to this.
There isn't much depth to this desk (on either the main portion or the return), but it fits the small space that I needed it to. I can fit a monitor stand and a keyboard in front of it, but that's about it. I do wish it came with a slide-out keyboard tray. The desk is stable, but I'd be cautious about loading too much weight onto it, especially where the main portion meets the return. It is particle board, and the screws at that particular juncture seem insufficient for significant weight. There are two holes for cords, which is a bit overkill in my opinion. The two panels in the back corner are theoretically to hide the cables, but it's hard to set up initially (i.e. if you put the desk flush against the wall, the cables can't feed out of this back corner). I recommend getting an extra person to help with construction because it's both very heavy and awkward to maneuver on your own (for example, the package it arrives in is ~70 lbs). I like the little bookshelves; one shelf arrived damaged but the desk manufacturer replaced the part promptly. The shelves can fit a standard binder with letter-size paper standing upright. For the price, this is a decent alternative to IKEA furniture.
I purchased this for a recent move. It came in a timely manner, just as described and assembled easily. I do really love the finish, although it is a veneer on particle board, I think. There's nothing remarkably amazing about the desk, hence 4 stars, but if you're looking for a reasonably priced, sturdy, attractive desk this is a winner!
