This is the 3rd time I order this desk and every time it comes to me the glass part comes shattered! I have needed a desk for over a month and when I call all they do is refund me and tell me to wait up to 10 days for ups to pick up the packages so i have 4 large packages wasting space waiting to be picked up.

I went ahead and took a chance on this desk even though I couldn't find reviews or even proper measurements of it 'anywhere' online. And, after reading the horror stories about the assembly of some other desks, I am glad that I did go with this one. The 'base' (everything other than the glass tops) arrived one day before the glass did...they shipped in two different boxes. Both were well packed and protected. The box with the base in it weighed a little over 50 pounds. The box with the glass in it weighed a little over 70 pounds even though there are only 4 pieces of glass; the glass is fairly thick - about 5/16 inch. I took my time and put the base together as soon as it arrived. I spent 3-4 hours on it, working alone and methodically. The directions are adequate if you pay close attention to the drawings. Everything is powder-coat black except for the very upper section which is wood as is the frame around the keyboard tray. They call it dark walnut - I'd call it dark cherry but definitely more red than espresso. The correct quantity of all parts were present and everything fit well - no trips to the hardware store or anything like that. The glass then arrived and it drops right in on top of the base - one for each of the three sections plus one for the keyboard. The glass is not just smoked; it has a black coating on the back so that it truly looks black and is not transparent. Once the desk is bolted together it is rock solid. The dimensions are: 74 3/4 inches on the long side, 62 inches on the shorter side, the work surfaces are 27 inches wide and the desk stands 30.5 inches tall. It is a fairly big desk but looks good if you have the room. It is simple and contemporary; doesn't seem like there is a lot to it for ~$500 until you start doing some comparison shopping and, for me, the look is right. The 'L' of the desk can be swapped between the left and the right when you assembly it. The keyboard tray can be left off if you don't like it (I use it to hold my laptop). I've been quite pleased with the desk so far - if you order one, I hope you have the same good luck.
