Assembly takes patience but it isn't hard. A second pair of hands would have probably helped with assembly but I got it done alone. Took around 60 minutes. I use it to display photo's and art objects in my living room. Would be nice in an office or kid's bedroom. Cubes are good sized and if assembled like the photo, will hold 10" basket with no problem. Mine came very well packaged (lots of cushioning and protective film.
This bookshelf fit a need and holds quite a few books. It is deep enough and wide enough for that purpose and attractive enough to fit in to just about any environments. It comes in enough finishes to choose from. It is not, just so buyer knows, a rock solid piece of hardwood furniture, and assembly is required, though easy enough and worth the effort in the end. I am very happy with it because I have a lot of books.
This book case is quite heavy, made of particle board with a fake wood veneer. The back, which nails on, is made of cardboard. Without nailing this in place the case doesn't stay square. The one shelf sets on top of four small pegs with small rubbery guards on them so it can pull right out. For the money it's ok but not a real piece of furniture per se.
