I bought this luggage set for my 12 year old daughter. We are going on a cruise in a few weeks and the last time she has done any major traveling was 7 years ago. Needless to say she had outgrown her old set and it was falling apart. I needed to get her a set that was durable could last her for a while and she had one request that it had to be pink. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on luggage for a 12 year old but also wanted quality. This luggage set is awesome and extremely light weight. The sizes are also good also. To explain the size we will be cruising for 7 days which means about 14 sets of clothes and 4 pairs of shoes. The large size was too large. In all honesty we could have shared the large suitcase. However, she wanted her own and me adding my clothes could have placed us over the 50 pound weight limit. I was able to pack her 14 pairs of clothes, underclothes, PJs and three pairs of shoes in the middle size with space remaining. At the top of the suitcase is a zip section where we placed he shoes and toiletries in, that did not take away from suitcase space. I travel quite often and my luggage is heavy and bulky so I'm thinking about purchasing the purple set for myself. Trust me you will not be disappointed in the product. I only have one not really negative comment and that is the small case is too large as a carryon in my opinion unless you are not checking luggage. I would suggest that they have a real carry on bag. Needless to say I found one that matches perfect so I will not rate it lower based on that one issue.
I bought these travel bags to get the smaller roll around for carry on and the even smaller personal item carry on bag because the measurements fit for both the airlines I flew on. This has become important since airlines charge you now for check-ins (no matter how small and light the price is the same with in limits) except when travelling over seas (if your lucky). The even smaller bags also come in handy for dirty laundry, toiletries and medicines. The 2 large bags will replace my 2 hard suite cases which add a lot of weight before anything is in them. As far as complaints by others, I found no bad smells at all on any of the luggage. When I unzipped the smallest roll around to get that extra 1-2" girth it does tend to tip over when the handle is extended and you stop holding it up. Finally, I can see how these will wear out. They are fabric and will get tossed, dragged, and slid about by everyone handling them. But they seam to be fairly heavy duty fabric. If we want perfection we must wait for such bags to be made of Kevlar. I have the hard case variety and they do not help much as far as keeping your close unwrinkled or you new souvenir coffee mug handle from breaking off on the way home. The only issues I've found so far are, one zipper came with a missing pull, which makes it useless except that most zippers on the bags open from both ends so there IS one that works. The second issue is the zippers get sticky once in a while which is very common with zippers. Unfortunately, I have found that these are the most common problems with zippers leading them to completely break when your forced to force them open or closed. The final issue is one I find common on roll around luggage so I don't really blame these bags in particular. The strap to hold other luggage is annoyingly short at almost useless because it does not hold the bag on the top. It, instead makes the bag hang insecurely off the back so the roll around is off balanced and will often tip the hole thing sideways while your walking along, especially when maneuvering, taking turns and getting on elevators, escalators, and so on. I hope this helps others. I would have given it a five Star as almost all of my issues are common on luggage but I don't expect a zipper pull to be missing when the shipment arrives. Best Regards, Paul *******
Can you imagine the frustration at 11pm the night before your trip after having packed the bag, zipping and then going to lift with the handle coming off - first use! Frustrating. Fortunately my husband is handy and repaired it somehow with a new screw and it’s been fine ever since through multiple trips and >=50lb heavy loads. Love it but have to give 4 stars for this. Hopefully ours was a fluke.
