I've used this for three trips now. I got the Salmon color. Admittedly, I'm no expert on luggage, but this is my second suitcase I've owned. The first one I got in high school and lasted me 20 years. It actually still works great, it's just that one of the wheels has a chunk missing from it so it makes some noise as it rolls. I decided to get this one because I wanted to get a pair of matching suit cases for me and my wife, who previously didn't own a suitcase. I specifically bought this one because I liked the colors, it looked rugged from the pictures, the price was great, and my wife also needed a duffel bag. Pros: - The wheels seem to be great for rough surfaces. - I love the color - As advertised, the size is perfect for carry-on - So far, it's holding up without any problems - Great price (I paid $60) Cons: - The material collected a lot of dirt from the airplane cargo bay - If I pack something heavy, like my 17" laptop, on the top of the luggage, it doesn't sit upright. It falls forward. - Though I said it's holding up, the inner liner seems like thin plastic and I won't be surprised if it rips soon. The zipper doesn't seem rugged enough. And the retractable handle seems flimsy. Time will tell. - I've pinched my finger in the retractable handle a few times. - The duffel bag could be a few inches bigger.
I bought one of these carry-on bags for my husband (who liked it), then followed on with one for myself. Thus far, neither of us has checked his or her bag, so I cannot say how this suitcase will hold up in the hands of baggage handlers, but as a carry-on it's worked very well. Even with the outer pockets filled, it slides easily into an overhead bin. (We haven't used the expansion feature, so I don't know if it would fit as easily in its expanded form.) The handle extends and withdraws with ease, & the wheels roll smoothly. There is a nice fabric lining, and the zippers work well. Several reviewers have commented about the malodorous interior of this suitcase. My husband's case arrived with no smell whatsoever, but mine smelled very, very bad. No problem: I sprayed the interior with Febreze, let it sit for a few minutes, then wiped up the excess liquid with a soft towel (the interior linings are non-absorbent). Presto: no smell whatsoever. One other small issue is the interior straps: they aren't very long, and while my moderately full suitcase zipped easily, the straps were too short to fasten, even fully extended. There's no denying that the price of this bag is unbeatable: the question outstanding is whether it can hold up under the hard knocks that checked bags must withstand. We bought the charcoal gray, which looks very smart.
Anyone who is old enough remembers the heady days of carrying your suitcase in airports, then we were relieved when someone put two wheels on the case so we could pull it along. Do you see people lugging cases around the airport anymore? Didn't think so. Now these cases will replace those antiquated two wheeled contraptions - if you want a reason to buy these suitcases just travel without them (with people have them) and you will buy them before your next trip. These are especially convenient when waiting on line at the terminal or at customs. These arrived quickly and conveniently and you can't beat the price anywhere.
We really liked the price for such a nice suitcase. This is an upgrade from our old luggage with the spinner wheels. Feel like a flight attendnat with AA insignia all over the suit case.
