I wanted to replace my old canvas set of luggage with something inexpensive yet sturdier than what I had. I was a little hesitant about buying online because I wanted to be able to check out what I was buying. After reading other reviews, I decided to go ahead and purchase. I am very satisfied with the set - got the blue which is much nicer than pictured. The cases wheel nicely and the only real comment I would make to the negative is that I think that the zippered mesh pocket in each case is a bit flimsy. Again, for the price, these will last me a good long time - the hard side feature will certainly extend the life over my older canvas ones that ripped.
I haven't had new luggage in 11 years since I was an exchange student and I have struggled with purchasing new luggage because I never found just what I wanted. Or I bought it used it once and it broke! It was even harder to shop online, BUT... When these came in the mail yesterday I was blown away! The quality looks amazing, the hybrid style looks very durable! I was waiting to receive them to decide if I wanted a larger one to check as well and I was thrilled to order the 25" last night! I can't wait to use this luggage in my travels over the next few months, the plum is so sharp and my boyfriend loved his orange carry-on. It's great to have his and hers luggage in the same style, but different colors. Also the inside is so organized and I love the zippered mesh pockets! I will re-post if there are any issues in my travels, but right now I can't wait to get on a plane with these bags! :) I will say though in terms of price, I was surprise that the 25" cost the same as a carry on... We spent $240 on two carry on bags and a 25". We (as with many people) didn't need two large checked bags so buying the set for a slightly cheaper price didn't make sense. We needed two carry-on bags and one checked bag at least to match my carry-on, maybe another in the future to match his. I was surprised by the cost being the same, but am thrilled to own this luggage! Love the hybrid style and I'm glad I didn't buy a full hard-case suit case!
this is a very functional item. not very stylish but it gets the job done. very portable than the 2-fold garment bags. took it to a 4-day, 3-night business trip and i was able to fit all my clothes in it. hard to grapple with the "hook" for the hanger. not really a hook but a strap that you have to fasten so the hangers don't fall off. nice mesh pockets for shirts and smaller mesh pockets for undies. i packed it full and was even able to get a computer case just fine. the strap is a little awkward because of the width but very useful if you pack the bag really full. zippers seems sturdy. material itself is lightweight, not bulky, but held up fine. now if this has wheels, this will be my perfect garment bag.
We've used this on 3 cruises now and we haven't had any problems with the luggage being tossed around onto carts and whatever else they do once you lose sight of it. We have not taken it on an air flight yet so we are not sure how well it will hold up with those luggage handlers. We bought the 4 piece set as well as an additional large piece and other than my husband's suit was able to pack everything we needed for both of us for the week. Of course one suitcase was just for shoes! The 3 pieces have the pull out handle and you can piggy back the suitcases (hook one on the other) so the larger suitcase acts like a dolly/cart. The pieces that have the pull out handles have two outside zipper pockets and on the inside of the lid of each case is a zipper pocket as well as mesh pockets. The pull pieces have wheels although they do not spin fully around. The carry on bag is perfect for makeup or toiletries and medicines although it isn't large enough to hold all that plus a hair dryer, curling iron, etc. The material feels like a very heavy canvas. The pieces nestle inside each other when empty.
