I was very excited to get this luggage and replace my mismatched old beat up luggage. It looks and feels like a great product. After the 3rd use of the small carry one rolling bag the handle busted and the tiny screw that held the top handle to the bottom mechanism broke. I was able to rig it together and make it work. I was disapointed that the only bag that had spinning rolling wheels was the largest bag. We get the most use out of the carry on bag and it only pulls on wheels. The zipper in the smaller bag in the top broke off also. We have not used the rolling duffle bag yet and so far the large bag is standing up the the last couple of trips. I am just disspointed in the quality of the product. I guess you get what you pay for.
Pros: great sized bags, useful pockets and compartments both inside and out, and a fun pattern on the outside making spotting it on the carousel at the airport very easy. Cons: the problem is that when the bags are packed and heavy the wheels don't work properly, making them hard to maneuver through the airport (especially the biggest bag) ...made worse if you have more than one that you are trying to wheel around. When empty or packed very lightly the wheels work fine....but who doesn't pack a suitcase as heavy as is allowed? So I gave it an average rating...not perfect but ok!
We needed new carry- ons for airline travel plus our larger pullman cases had taken a beating from the luggage carousels with zippers broken or smashed to the point they wouldn't even open. Very happily surprised at this set of "no -name brand" luggage. The set is extremely sturdy and zippers seem to be heavy duty type. Interesting design in that the zippered portion is "set back" from the frame edge by about an inch which hopefully will prevent that zipper mangling. They are roomy with lots of pockets and stretchy bands - the rolling duffel and tote were bonuses too. Handles deploy easily but also detract too easily because the locking mechanism is on the top so when you push the bag you tend to push the lock down. Rollers are smooth but will probably be the first part to break as they appear to be all plastic. All in all - a really good buy as we priced name brand luggage in discount stores and would have gotten only one carry-on for just slightly less than this set.
I received my luggage about 1 month ago. It is very lovely and very much as I expected it to be. It is easy to maneuver because of the "four wheel drive." Spinner luggage feature. It is easy to Identify when it is coming along on the airport conveyor belt because of the fabric design and color. I go to India quite often and I like the little elephant designs on the fabric. The only problems that I have found with it, is that it is fraying, slightly on the bindings. I am hoping that it doesn't wear out too soon around these critical areas. Also, it is difficult to put the luggage pieces inside of one another after use, because the zippers are recessed on the top of the luggage rather than on the edges. Other than those 2 problems, I am pretty well satisfied with my new American Flyer luggage. The price was right, and the delivery time was perfect.
