I've had this briefcase for about six months. While I travel some, most of the time I use this to take work home. The briefcase still looks great after six months; I'm not that tough on them. Today one of the grommets holding the handle on came off. While the case is still usable, I'm wondering what else will happen. I've owned a lot of briefcases over my 30 years in business but Ive never had this happen, especially on an item that cost over $$$ and is less than six months old. I would not be able to recommend this for that reason.
I gave this bag to my husband for Christmas as his briefcase was so old and shabby! This bag seemed best for him as it was soft like his other bag. What worked out so much better and what was lacking in his old bag was the fantastic organization this bag provides for all his paperwork and laptop and his supplies. He is really enjoying it immensely.
This is a very nice quality bag that's comparable to many $400+ bags. The color is exactly as advertised. The lining and interior pockets are perfect for me (I work in IT and usually have a notebook, eBook reader, and some pens and paper in my briefcase). The lifetime warranty is reassuring. It's been aging well. I expect to get many years out of this bag. It's pricier than the Chinese made bags, but for me, I'd rather pay a premium for quality and for American made products. Also, if you damage the bag, they'll repair it for a fee. To me, that says this is something to be maintained, rather than something disposable. I only gave this 4 stars, as it's not on par with uber-expensive bags. The stitching and leather quality are inferior to something like a Coach's Transatlantic Flap (~$500) or Tod's T-Bag flap briefcase (~$2000). At a fraction of the price, it's a far better value, though.
