I had been wanting a leather duffle for a while and then I saw one on Tommy Bahama's website and thought "I don't care about the logo and certainly don't want to pay extra for one". So I searched and searched and found this bag. Searched with this bag and found the price here. Things that I like about this bag that I didn't see in the description are that it has 5 metal studs on the bottom to keep it off of the direct ground, the shoulder strap has a rubber like material that should help keep it where you place it, very roomy and last but not least the rings to be used seem to be in a good spot. Honestly I could go on and on and I haven't even used it yet! It does have a heft to it but it is a leather bag and to me it should because I have never owned any leather products that were of good quality leather that didn't have a good heft to them. Ok one more thing- the handle combiner strap and be moved so that it is not in your way.
My husband had a Swiss bag for over 10 years before I purchased this for him. The last bag had a small rip in it. The construction of these bags is incredible. He was happy to see that there is extra padding in the straps and that the main handel has a metal reinforcement piece on it. He love this bag and it is used every single day. Excellent quality and well worth the price!
All good except the shoulder strap. The clips where it attaches to the bag are loose tolerance and they keep falling off. the clamps can be bent but then the metal is fatigued.Other than that, a great deal and a happy grandson.
I bought this because I travel with a 15.5" laptop a lot and I got tired of carrying a heavy bag on my back through the airports. Plus I didn't want to spend *** to get a good quality bag. I've put the laptop in a padded sleeve and it fits tightly in the bag. That's okay as I'd rather there not be wiggle room. This bag has absolutely no padding. My regular backpack is one of those swiss army backpacks with lots of extra pockets, padding, and made of heavy-duty canvas. This canvas will work, but it's not heavy duty. It's basically an empty pocket with three zipper pouches in front. Additionally, the plastic molding on bottom were great, but since the laptop is heavy, the plastic molding is sagging in the middle (width wise). Now the bag leans forward or falls forward. I need to lean this against something (handle side toward the wall) or it will fall over. I'm going to have to put some metal bracket on the bottom to reinforce the plastic molding. It does go through narrow airplane aisles. The wheels are okay. I may find myself paying *** to get a good quality one.
