They are REAL marble so they are very heavy (I purchased two), they are really cool--I like them a lot. The only complaint I have is the pull-string to turn the light on and off isn't as smooth as I am familiar with its a wee bit of a tug--on both light fixtures. But they look great and I am happy with the results.
