This lamp is beautiful! Gives a nice soft light and the colors are so pretty when illuminated. The pedal for turning it in and off is very convenient too. It was a little tricky to put together so that it was standing straight but with some persistence it came together!

The thing I feared most about this lamp is that the colors in the photo weren't accurate. I know it's something that happens with stained glass as it depends on the pigments of color they use in the glas and how it fires up. I have also been experiencing more white colored glass in the shades I have bought instead of actual colored glass. Both of these things happened with this lamp. The white glass is at the bottom where the light bulb is situated so it's very bright. It's hard on the eyes. If you don't mind that and are happy with a tortierre lamp with muted colors, this will work for you. It is well made, both shade and pole, and is not too heavy to move. The shade itself is about 10 inches at the top. I have had many compliments on it and it does brighten up an otherwise dark corner of the room. I just can't give it five stars.
