I was initially interested in this watch mainly for the step counting ability. I like to track my steps but hate wearing a pedometer. The only problem is that the watch grossly underestimates the actual steps taken. It is dependent on arm movement, but it seems that even running is not enough to accurately trigger the counter. I am not sure whether I will keep or return the watch. I really like it, but if the step counter doesn't work, I might return for a heart rate monitoring watch.
I like having the option of dual times just in case I travel across time zones. I have a hard time keeping track and this makes it easy. The real selling feature though is the steps per day. I have not made the 10,000 per day, but this keeps me aware of my activity level to help me focus. In fact, this is my second watch of this model. My first one lasted about 3 years and then just stopped working, and a new battery didn't fix it. Easy to change the battery. But since the price is so reasonable, just bought another so didn't have to worry about it. I think I only replaced the battery once in 3 years on the old watch.
My daughter wanted a Fit-bit and I wasn't going to spend that kind of money on something I wasn't sure she would even use. This was a great purchase. She likes the pedometer and time functions (although the clock does lose time through the month and needs to be adjusted every few weeks.).
