I have to admit I'm a watch fanatic. I love this watch. It is what you expect from a great watch company Seiko. The price was very good. It has become one of my favorites.

This is a good looking watch, neither too flashy nor too big...but not understated either. It is rated for 100 meters, which means it is ok to swim in and wash dishes...NOT ok for diving of any kind. Reaserch watch depth ratings and you'll understand. If you expose this watch to water, make sure you have the crown pushed in. This is my second solar watch, and I'm torn as to whether or not, as I expand my collection, I'll add more automatics or more kinetics/solars. I own a Rolex Submariner and I love it, but every 7 years or so Rolex charges me $650 to overhaul it. Well worth it IMO...because I use the Sub for diving and it's rugged as a tank. But I'm not sure I'd invest in any lesser automatics given the periodic maintenance costs. This watch has gold hands which look very nice, but do not contrast well with the white face. That makes it a little hard to see in a dark room. The luminescent 12, 3'oclock dot, 6 and 9 as well as the hand luminescence, do not glow long enough to make telling time easy at night. Might as well forget it, in fact. The watch is heavy, but not obtrusively thick or large. The band is easy to use and easy to remove links from...just drive out the flared-end pins. Taking it on and off is very easy with the Seiko push button clasp system, and it never accidently releases. The watch keeps its electric charge, and I keep it on the window sill when I'm not wearing it which keeps it charged adequately. I do the same with my Casio triple sensor solar. If I'm traveling at night I will wear the Casio, as you just flip your wrist and it automatically lights up. I purchased this watch for one hundred and nine bucks...I consider that to be a great price for what I got. So remember, this is not a dive watch and it is not easy to read at night...but it looks great, keeps good time, and should run continuously for decades without having to open the watch case for maintenance. Nice work Seiko.
