I bought this in the 18" length, which is just right for either everyday wear or evenings out. The pearl size is large enough to be seen (and heavy enough to lie flat against the body), but not so large that it looks gaudy or "old lady." The knotting is excellent, the pearls are all of uniform size and color (a soft white). The (gold) clasp feels rather cheap because of the thin metal, but that doesn't affect function or appearance. The one thing that annoyed me is that even though this comes in a large and heavy presentation box, the necklace was secured there by just two loops at the top. There was no tissue or other padding that would keep the string of pearls from bashing against itself in shipment. At this price, that is not acceptable! Pearls do scratch, and can chip or break. My necklace appears to be undamaged, but I am annoyed. (I matched this to 9mm earrings, and the slightly larger size works well.)
I purchased two of these over a year ago and wear them frequently (they "stagger" very well). The textured links lend the necklace to a dressy or casual look. (They are real, oblong freshwater pearls; note there is no clasp - "endless" design.)
The pearls are nice enough and there certainly are a lot of them. A variety of sizes, varying luster and shape but overall the necklace was just a bit "much" and wasn't as versatile as I expected. The strands hung at eight different lengths which seemed different from the description. I tried them on with a button down shirt but they didn't work with that at all. Normally I wear a short strand of pearls inside the collar, next to my skin and a long strand under the collar and hanging down the front of the shirt but with the way the pearls strands were all joined together at the clasp neither of those options would work. The clasp was also difficult to latch because of the way the pearl strands all clumped together at the end. I really expected to like and keep the necklace but I am returning it. Update...I am not going to return it but I am going to take it apart. I'll keep the shortest three strands intact but cut off the rest and make one long strand out of that and wear the two necklaces separately.
