This ring is total class mixed with a modern design. If you have looked at the picture and can't decide if the ring is dark like the photo, just know that it isn't as dark as it looks. It is a perfect balance of color. If you are looking for a ring that isn't bright silver, then this color is for you. The outer edges of the ring are pretty much true to color in the photo. The center band of the ring is is one to two shades darker with a brushed finish. When you wear this ring and the light catches it, you get a slight flash from the light bouncing off the outer edge. It is truly an attention grabber. This ring is solid. Sizing: If the top of your fingers are thinner than your knuckle then get 1 size smaller (i was a 9 and an 8 fits perfectly). If the top part of your finger is around the same diameter as your knuckle then a half size smaller is the way to go. I have had this ring for a week now and I have received numerous comments on it when people notice it. For the price, I went ahead and bought 2 sizes so as I grow old and my finger grows I will be able to switch to the larger size. This ring is timeless.
My anniversary with my boyfriend is coming up and I really wanted to get him something nice but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I looked at tungsten carbide rings at a bunch of name jewelers in store and online and their prices were anywhere from $150-450. Outrageous! I looked here and found this beautiful ring for such a steal! I highly recommend this ring! It's so shiny and so sleek. The ring is a little thinner than the picture shows. I knew it was 7mm but the picture makes it look like 8-9mm. One thing I like is that it is tungsten carbide-cobalt free. I really wanted a ring that was cobalt free so it didn't oxidize and turn my boyfriend's finger funny colors. Also regarding sizing: I had my boyfriend measured in the jewelry store and had him try on tungsten carbide rings. He was measured at a 10.5 and all the rings fit. I know all the reviews on here say order a size down but I suggest getting your man sized at the store and if you can get him to try on some tungsten. The 10.5 fits wonderfully. I'm not sure if gold fits differently since he's never owned a ring before, but I imagine with all these reviews it must. Thanks Overstock! I will be coming here for all my jewelry wants!
I do not know a lot about rings and what differentiates a good one from a bad one besides the obvious things. How durable is it, does it scratch easy, stain your fingers, etc. Tungsten supposedly is one of the strongest metals out there, I believe it is just below diamonds on the OHM scale. Tungsten carbide (WC) is an inorganic chemical compound (specifically, a carbide) containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon atoms. Colloquially, tungsten carbide is often simply called carbide. In its most basic form, it is a fine gray powder, but it can be pressed and formed into shapes for use in industrial machinery, tools, abrasives, as well as jewelry. Tungsten carbide is approximately three times stiffer than steel, with a Young's modulus of approximately 550 GPa,[2] and is much denser than steel or titanium. It is comparable with corundum (α-Al2O3)or sapphire in hardness and can only be polished and finished with abrasives of superior hardness such as cubic boron nitride and diamond amongst others, in the form of powder, wheels, and compounds. So far it has lived up to being very durable and has not scratched.. I wear it everyday to work and going out. It has been about 2 weeks so it hasnt gone through a lot of activity. It also has not changed my finger colors and the feel is awesome. I enjoy it a lot and for the price you can't beat it.
My husband first purchased a Tungsten Carbide ring for our wedding in 2006, back then they were just coming out with them and were quite costly. He had a mishap with his ring, and accidentally lost it in our fire pit, it was really cold and the ring was very loose! The fire didn't do anything to his ring, except for tarnish it. We kept wanting to take it in to a jeweler to see if they could polish it up or something, but never found the time. Then one day recently a friend commented on his ring and told her that he wanted to get it polished, and that's when she said, that since the rings had out been out for a while, they weren't that costly anymore! The price for this ring was unbelievable!! We were very excited that we could replace his ring for quite a lot less than what we originally paid for. They didn't have the color that he had originally but this one, was a close match to it, and we both loved this ring when it arrived! We are very happy with this purchase and love the quality of the Tungsten Carbide rings, as I said previously, the only thing that was wrong with his ring after the fire, was that it was tarnished, but nothing else, no dings, scratches,or warping!! This is a very good quality ring and is perfect for a man who uses his hands for a lot of things! One tip for those of you who have never purchased a Tungsten Carbide ring before, the beveled edge is the way to go, as it's a comfort fit and my husband has no issues wearing it! This is the second ring purchase from Overstock.com and have been completely satisfied with both of the purchases that we have made so far!!
nice Men's tungsten edge ring
This really is the perfect ring! I bought this ring 10 years ago for my husband’s wedding band. It is made with excellent craftsmanship and quality. I recently ordered this in a smaller size as a replacement because, after losing weight, the original ring was too big and would actually fall off of his finger. This ring is comfortable. It is smooth and does not press into the fingers next to it. It is extremely durable and stylish. It is not flashy. To me, it has a very classic look that blends well when you dress up or down. You won’t find a better ring for the money. In fact, you will not find a better ring for a lot more money. I would buy this ring again, even if it cost as much as a gold or platinum ring. I really cannot believe the amazing price on tungsten carbide rings! I ordered a half size smaller than I expected because I feel like these run a hair large. Tungsten carbide CANNOT be resized. This will outlast anything you can buy for this price! I highly recommend!
I bought this ring for my fiance for our upcoming wedding. He likes traditional mixed with modern style everything so this ring was absolutely perfect for him! The center of the band has a very polished look to it and the beveled edge sparkles from its finish. It catches the light very well and it doesn't have the "bling" we were trying to avoid. Just enough to have a very modern look to it. Once we got the sizing down (after two returns - sorry O.co!!) the fit was perfect! Very comfortable for him with the "comfort fit" sizing. I would definitely suggest going with a half size smaller than the finger as the rings tend to be about a half size larger than listed to make room for the "comfort fit". Great customer service here - very helpful and patient!!
I ordered two tungsten rings from overstock for my fiancé and I to choose, this one and the 7mm men's tungsten brushed and polished rigid band. Both were great quality and looked nice but this one stood out a bit more for me. We would have been happy with either but I thought this one looked like it was worth more. These exact same rings are sold at nice jewelers for $$$. The beveled edge on this ring allows light to reflect off it and have a nice slight shine to it but its not too overstated. Its also not as dark as it looks in the photo in my opinion. My fiancé wanted a super plain NOT shiney ring that won't scratch. Thats why we went with tungsten. I can't wait to get it engraved! Definitely order a half size smaller!
I found this ring in a jewelry store that was priced right at $150.00 more than Overstocks price. I decided to order the ring after reading all the reviews in a half size smaller than the ring size. Needless to say I had to return the ring for half size larger than I ordered. In my opinion the ring is true to the actual ring finger size.
Got this ring for my husband as his wedding ring. It is Tungsten Carbide ring, known as a very scratch proof ring. So far, it lives up to his standards. Also, the metal's name "Tungsten Carbide" is engraved on the inside, which I really like. He loves his ring and I think other men would really love it too. It is very modern. My husband said he wanted a plain ring (he hates wearing jewelry of any kind) but I wanted to find him a stylish ring. When I saw this ring, I think it fit perfectly in between stylish and plain. The picture of this ring is exactly what it looks like in person. To be specific, it is gray in color in the middle (where the metal is nicely brushed) and very shiny/chrome on the beveled edges to the point where it sparkles. This turned out to be the PERFECT ring for my husband.
My husband wore his original wedding band for only six months. 27 years later I wanted to try to get him to wear a band again, but this time I decided to buy an inexpensive ring just in case it ended up in his dresser drawer. I am happy to report I bought the Men's Tungsten Carbide Brushed and Polished Beveled Edge Ring and he loves it and wears it. He has no idea that it was inexpensive because it looks expensive. I followed the advice of previous purchasers and ordered a size smaller. It fits perfectly. No regrets.
I have shopped various jewelry stores, in person, searching for a tungsten carbide ring to purchase for my fiancee' for our wedding. I found this ring in well-known shops for $200-$300. I decided to look online and was hesitant, actually, in purchasing with only a photo to go by, and I honestly couldn't believe the ring was at such a price!! I was so happy when I opened the package to find the ring was incredible!......beautiful, heavy, and true to the tungsten carbide rings I had held, firsthand. I would highly recommend this ring to anyone looking for a fabulous wedding ring at a fraction of the cost. Do be aware, though, to definitely take into consideration the sizing of the ring, and order a half size smaller than you feel you need. As most have said, it seems to be the way to go, and I found that out, too. Also, as others have mentioned, comfort fit rings do fit a little differently. Lastly, if you do need an exchange, it's so very easy to do here at overstock.com. Oh yes, my fiancee' thought for sure I'd ran back to the jewelry shop and surprised him for Valentine's Day with the ring! I did show him the website, and he's in agreement with everything I've said.....great ring, great value!
This is a great buy. Tungsten is a popular metal choice for men due to its strength, but can get really pricey at the jewelry store. When I told my family about this find, they said I was mistaken about the metal and that I couldn't find a tungsten ring for this price. This is certainly a great find! I will say that the ring is lighter and shinier than it looks in the picture. I was initially looking for something darker, but my finance liked it anyways, so we are keeping it. As far as the fit goes, it is perfect. A word of advice to those trying to order the correct size: Go to the jewelry store and get your finger fitted with their sizing rings. Make sure to ask about the sizing for a comfort fit band. We were told that the because the sizing rings used at our jewelry store were so thin, they got the true measure and would be accurate fit for any type of ring including a comfort fit. In fact, our store ONLY carried comfort fit bands for men.
great looking ring, heavy weight, comfortable fit. DO order half size smaller (theres a very small difference in half sizes, but it can mean the difference of it sliding off when you're washing your hands or not). Excellent price; cheap enough that I bought a second one a half size larger as a spare since these are not resizable. The brushed coloring has VERY slightly darkened over the month of wear (only noticed when I put it next to my spare), but I think it looks better that way. I have NOT had any allergic reaction to the metal (I can't wear yellow gold or stainless steel). Beware though that the edge of this ring (where the brushed section begins) is a fairly sharp edge, so its easy to scratch things if you brush by them (like the car leather).
My fiance really liked this ring. He was trying to decide between titanium and tungsten. He liked the lightweight feel of titanium but the drawback is that it scratches easier. He determined he was OK with a little more weight for less scratches. He really likes that it's a comfort fit on the inside - he's never worn jewelry and wanted it to be very comfortable. For him it's just the right amount of detail - the brushed part is very brushed and the beveled edges are really shiny. It's a nice contrast. And for the price, if he decides that he doesn't like wearing a wedding ring, no biggie!
My husband loves the tungsten carbide. Its a great ring for a great price.
I read all of the reviews on this ring and good thing I did.. we ordered a half size smaller - like the other reviews said to do and it fits perfect! This ring is so much better in person than we ever expected. We bought this as a temporary ring until we could find the wedding ring my husband wanted, but after receiving it he decided that this was the one he wanted to keep. It looks just like all of the expensive ones we saw in the jewelry stores. It is a semi heavy weight - not too heavy but not light either. He loves the way it feels on his finger and the shape of it feels comfortable also. It is called the comfort fit because it has more rounded edges so it is more comfortable and doesnt cut into his finger. My husband is very tough on jewelry and is constantly hitting it on things and banging it around and it doesnt scratch at all. It is extremely sturdy and looks just like it did when we opened the box. The color is a great looking titanium color instead of the typical white gold look. We are so happy that we chose this ring over all of the others - not just for the amazing price, but it really is a great ring! We would definitely recommend this ring to anyone!
We ordered this ring for my now-husband's wedding band and it was a perfect fit, in terms of look, quality, and price! Couldn't be happier with it - we've been married a month and still very satisfied with the ring. He loves the feel of it and the dual brushed/polished tungsten with the beveled edge gives it a solid masculine look. Friend of mine has a similar ring purchased at a jewelry store and it was over triple the cost of what we paid on Overstock - you can't go wrong!
My husband loved the comfort fit. The brushed design with the bright polished edges makes for a dressy or casual wedding ring. Scratch proff by the brushed look is a plus in buying and the comfort fit seals the deal!! Yes I would offer this to a friend! The price is even great!!
I originally bought a Titanium wedding ring very similar in style to this ring for my husband back in December (not from Overstock). It got scratched and dinged up quickly altho he barely wore it. All the jewelers swore up and down titanium is difficult to scratch. Hahaha. When I read reviews about tungsten "not scratching," I looked up more info online to find this is usually true. Trusting this band to perform better than titanium and to look nice too, I bought it in my husband's ring size 9.5. TOO BIG! So I returned it (not too painful, but it took forever to get processed once they received it, plus they took out more for shipping than I would have paid on my own, which I did have the option of, so its my mistake thinking overstock would give me a good price) and then ordered a half size smaller. Perfect fit. My husband has a job where he cant wear the ring a lot, so he only wears it when we go out and about. So he hasnt worn it much, but it has gotten a few minor scratches, but nothing like the titanium ring had. He doesnt mind (thinks it makes it rugged and cool). The price is great, the ring is very nice, and my husband is happy. Win, win.
