I proposed to my fiance and bought him a ring, so I decided that let me have the option of choosing and buying my own engagement ring. Princess Picky-Pants that I am struggled to find anything that matched all my requirements: all genuine gemstones (no diamonds because I hate them), true London blue topaz color (a lot of sellers try to pass off Swiss blue as London blue), halo design, sterling silver (because that is the only metal I haven't had some sort reaction to), less than ***, and from a reputable site that will handle any problems that might arise with a seller. No clue there why it took me a year to find the ring of my dreams. This ring is stunning! I get so many compliments everyday, and people who take the time to look at it up close remark that they have never seen anything like it. Thing setting is up high enough to accommodate almost any wedding band design you might choose, but I have no idea if a couple of the iolite stones would interfere with soldering in any way (but that is a great question for the jeweler you find who is willing to solder sterling silver jewelry from an outside seller). I wish the seller offered more views of this ring like they do their green version so that you can really see what they mean by "under gallery" and the color of iolite stones. (I would include pictures with my review, but haven't seen an option for that. I searched on this site for "green halo" and looked under rings to see the seller's other images) Iolite is more of a purple stone that you can find with a basic image search, it doesn't sparkle much in any lighting I have found, and is often mistaken for black diamonds in low lighting areas. The white topaz sparkle beautifully, no matter the lighting conditions, and always draw attention. Unfortunately, the London blue topaz will look more like a sapphire (one person asked if it was black onyx) in low lighting, but shows its brilliance in well-lit areas or outside. I bought the size 5 for me and knew it would probably be too big (I usually wear a 4.5) so I need to find a jeweler to size it for me. I mention size just to give you a scale in your head when I say this ring looks a bit ostentatious on my little fingers. If you knew me, then you you would know that this ring matches my personality perfectly, but I could understand why some strangers on the street don't automatically think "engagement ring" when I am out. I hope that when I find the right guard/enhancer for my wedding band that the finished look will clear up any confusion. I work in healthcare so I wash and sanitize my hands constantly, but this ring has yet to dull. Overall, I am beyond happy with my purchase and recommend this to anyone who wants a break-the-bank look without the price.
but I now own all three! I can tell you with certainty that the apatite and the rhodolite garnet stones and rings are absolutely beautiful! I just purchased the iolite ring, and while I am happy with it, the iolite does not show up as dark blue, but as black spinel, not a bad look either. Just be prepared. I personally love all three and would not send back even the iolite one because I like the look of spinel on spinel. Great rings!
Definitely NOT the choice for women with small hands/fingers, at just over an inch long; lovely overall design featuring good-quality iolites. Has a "rich" look and feel on the hand. Please be aware, however, that the size 8 (which I purchased) does run "small"; therefore, I strongly recommend ordering a size larger than one's ring size.
