The ring is very pretty. However, it runs small. I always wear a size 6-usually a little loose-but I cant get this one on my right hand at all. And its too big for my left hand, which is a 5-1/2.
My boyfriend bought this ring for me for my birthday. I'm not much on diamonds because I think they're too common and I love the color of Aquamarines. This ring is a perfect size...not so big that it looks gawdy and not so small that it looks like a little kids ring. I think the blue shows up beautifully, but depending on the light it may show up a little clearer. My boyfriend is a geologists and thinks that most gems sold as Aquamarine have been tinted to look more blue anyway. I'm very happy with this ring and was glad Overstock had it in a size 4.5 since most of their rings start at size 5 or 6.
I bought this for my teen daughter in lieu of a high school class ring. The sapphire is small (approximately 6 x4 mm), but is a pretty medium to dark blue (the color on my phone screen is pretty close to the actual color of the stone). It is not dark navy or black in appearance, but no royal blue/cobalt tones to it either. It is a translucent stone and does have a nice sparkle to it. The diamonds are cloudy with a tinge of yellow, but true to the item description. The bypass part is grooved, which doesn't really show up on my screen. This would be a pretty, feminine ring for a teen girl, or an understated ring for everyday wear--especially if you have smaller hands. I am disappointed that mine had a defect/nick in the bypass part of the metal near the sapphire which is why I gave it a 3 star rating instead of a 4 (defect, although small, is in a highly visible area), so I am returning it. Overall, it is a nice ring for the price--however, I am disappointed with the one I received.
