The necklace is pretty, and I think I will probably keep it. It is unique in that part of the color comes from the silk threads that string the amethyst beads and pink plastic beads together. The pink of the amethyst is very pale, so the plastic beads and silk threads punch up the color. The photo with the gold stone background incorrectly makes the necklace appear to be more of a neon-like fuchsia, but the necklace is more muted in color. It feels light in weight and easy to wear, and it is different enough from most necklaces that I see for sale in the U.S. that I will probably hang onto it to give as a gift if I don't wear it myself.
The gemstone is much darker in person, it actually looks black. My friend thought it was onyx at first. It does have a nice deep red undertone but it's only seen when the right light hits it. I love the frame for the main stone, but as someone else said, it doesn't lay flat. The top twists around a lot. I still like it though!
