This ring is set with a 2-3 carat oval cut orange sapphire with good transparency to the naked eye which takes center stage in an intricate and innovative 14K YG setting with a vintage but streamlined feel. I can hardly find any negative about this ring. It is not inexpensive, but the artistry, workmanship, and materials are above average, so it is not really a bad value. Fine jewelry with a precious colored stone (as is sapphire) rather than a semi-precious one often comes at an even higher price than this example. In short, this ring does all that its designer intended and its owner could desire and is an example of a Valitutti at its best. It is surprising it is not classified as a "one-of-a-kind".
Not a small opal at all, but one of good size and color! The stone is very deserving of the mounting because anything lighter weight would not have looked right for the size stone it is. The black spinel's offer a little accent but white zircons would have been better. This is a very expensive ring and Ethiopian opals of this size are becoming more and more hard to get. I highly recommend this ring for guys or gals as it is bold and beautiful!
If you are luck enough to get this beautiful and ornate ring, you won't be disappointed! The colors of sapphire here are electric and sparkle brightly among the palladium mounting. This is a wide ring and heavy but the colors really pack a punch! This ring fits true to size and is smooth on the finger. One of Michael's best creations and the price cannot be beat!
