I was a bit skeptical about buying freshwater pearls, rather than Akoya. However, these are very pretty, appear perfectly round, and have a nice luster. They were a gift for my daughter for her birthday to go with a pearl necklace (Akoya, also purchased from Overstock.com) we gave her for Christmas. She was delighted with both gifts. She wears the necklace frequently, and I'm sure she'll enjoy wearing the "matching" earrings with it.
