Have had one of these for a decade and just had to replace the batteries yearly. Wore while moving, showering, shoveling and hauling yards of gravel, mulch and loam. Pounded cold asphalt into cracks and tarred driveways with it on. Painted houses, hauled 80 lb bags of river rock, planted hundreds of plants, shrubs and full trees. The glass is mineral and so it gets crazed but not cracked after accidents with rocks hitting it, but the watch is still water resistant. It is easy to read, holds up well and the dial is Mother of Pearl, so it is easy to read, handsome enough to go to dinner or kayaking or just working hard. Decided to get a new one with its original shine for our son's wedding. It reminds me that there are items of inherent beauty that can stand up to what life holds for each of us.
I need a watch that can handle being under water from time to time and this fit the bill. My hands are in dishwater quite a bit and I don't like taking my watch off every time I want to wash some pots and pans. I also live near the ocean and need to know the time so I don't burn. I love swimming and again, don't want to take off a watch every time I go in and out of the water. It's stylish enough for the evening and functional enough for the beach.
