This ring is a very feminine product and if your not careful, like me, the gold will were off. I suggest you to put a thin coat of clear fingernail polish on it before wearing or at least after you read this review.
Fits true to size, even tho the basket & stone are large. I ordered Amethyst & it's a beautiful medium shade of purple. Clarity & quality of main stone is perfect, and impressive in size on most sized hands. Craftsmanship of the Sterling Silver band & basket is fabulous... elegant, feminine, intricate, eye catching. Other reviewers complained about size of the small clear CZ's around halo & on sides. I say they are perfect in size. Larger ones would not look realistic. Most fine jewelers would not use larger diamonds than these CZ's. Yes, some would, however carat-wise the ring, if gold, would cost thousands instead of hundreds. THIS piece looks like an impressive white gold ring with a large vibrant gemstone & dainty diamonds. None of the stones are loose, they are set same as on fine jewelry, and the main stone has 4 double-prongs at the corners to hold it securely. The prongs on my ring do not catch on clothing, as they are sized & curved just right. I've worn this ring for over a month now. Showered with it, gardened while wearing it, swam in pool, etc, with no damage or dulling of the polished rhodium finish. I have no idea what other reviewers complained about. I am buying myself another one in Aquamarine today. Might choose the round stone style if it's still available, just for diversity. NOTE: The main gemstones apear to be colored CZ's, which is why they are vibrant, have no inclusions, and allow light to shine through them. Precious gems such as emerald, ruby, and sapphire will always have a few includions, so if you select those stones, understand that anyone who knows jewelry will know that your stone is indeed man-made. However if you select the other stones such as the amethyst, alexandrite, blue topaz, peridot, aquamarine or citrine, your stone will appear genuine to even the most discerning eye because those stones are commonly found with excellent clarity & little to no visible inclusions. I just wanted to add that info to assist others in selecting stones based on how real they want the whole ring to look. Lastly, if you select opal, whether genuine or man-made, please know it will not have the same hardness as a CZ or a semi-precious quartz family gemstone, therefore you should not wear it in showers, pools, gardening, etc, and should only use an opal-safe jewelry cleaner product to clean it. Real & man-made opals are porous & rate lower on the Mose scale of hardness, so should be treated as the more delicate stones that they are. The other stones which are colored CZ's can handle soaps & regular jewelry cleaning liquids including silver cleaner (just a quick dip) because CZ's rate an average of 9 on the Mose scale, with diamonds rating a 10. (a little lesson in gemology can go a long way whether you are buying from Tiff any or Overstock.com :) Enjoy this heirloom quality piece. It's a steal of a deal. Seriously. PS... The protection plan is great for those who are concerned about losing a stone, but remember that a good local jeweler can order & mount a replacement CZ in under 2 weeks for very little cost, which can happen to any ring no matter what you paid for it, so why stress over replacing a CZ. If you visit a jeweler while wearing your new ring, just ask him/her to check your stones & prongs to see if any are loose. You'll probably get a free cleaning as a courtesy just for stopping in. :) Enjoy showing off your newest heirloom quality piece! XO
