  • Great Trash Can

Fantastic! I could not be more happy with this product. It arrived well within the time listed. It runs on batteries as well as plugs in so you can put it absolutely anywhere. It has a classic stainless look and the best part no messy bag tops sticking out for the world to see. If your hands of full of raw chicken or debris and you need to throw that into the kitchen trash, you would love this no touch trash can. I bought one for my self and my mother and grandmother had to have one too.

  • A great buy

I have had different kitchen trash cans over the years. The last few were plastic and not well made. So, I tried the iTouchless and I am glad I did. This trash can not only looks nice, but works well also with the automatic lid. The can takes 13 to 18 gallon plastic trash liners. The lid mechanism when it opens and closes is actually quieter than a metal can with a foot pedal. The sensor works well. You get within 5 to 6 inches and the lid opens. I also like that you can press the open button and the lid stays open until you press close. Plus, you can turn off the whole thing with a switch. The price is a lot cheaper than other stainless steel trash cans. A great buy!

  • A good useful sensor trash can

Pros:1. Just the right sensor sensitivity -- not a lot of false opens when you just walk past. 2. Lid opens fast, so it's easy to use. 3. Just the right size for the kitchen 13 gallon bags. 4. Very economical battery use with an optional to use AC adaptor to save battery. 5. Just the right size: the height is convenient and comfortable, slips into even the tightest spots in the kitchen.

  • Review of the sensor trash can

I received my itouchless can last Monday and I love it. I was skeptical about this trash can at first, however, rest assured it is great, I had no problem to remove the trash bag. This trash can works flawlessly. Never need to touch the dirty lid again while cooking. Making cleaning a whole lot easier with the sensor lid. Manual open button is great for peeling potato skin and keeping the lid open during party. There is power switch to turn off the auto open function so that the lid will stay shut and save battery. I'm thinking about ordering the AC adaptor so that no battery is needed. Overall, this sensor trash can is better than step-on trash can and costs a lot less too.

  • Great trashcan, hands-free

We were searching mainly for a round stainless steel trashcan to match our kitchen. Surprisingly few choices in this combination, especially one that had a foot-pedal or some other mechanism than your hands to open (a must-have in the kitchen, given how often our hands are full when we're heading for the trashcan). Our "SimpleHuman" stainless steel foot-pedal trashcan broke within 2 months (the foot pedal mechanism is cheap plastic -- press down on it too hard, break!)So I bought this trashcan on a whim, as it met my design requirements. I thought, what the heck, it's different and will fit in the space we need it to.We have not been disappointed. After 6 months of continuous kitchen duty, it has not failed. Once you understand how the sensor works, it's easy to get it to open when you need it. Haven't needed to replace the batteries either, which was my only real concern. Solidly built, no problems with the door mechanism or the can itself. We quickly did away with the retaining ring for the trashcans as the lid itself will hold the bag in place nicely. The only annoyance is that if you put in a traffic area and people walk by it, it will occasionally open thinking someone is approaching it to throw away trash. The place you want to put this should be low traffic, or you can take the suggestions mentioned in other reviews to reduce the sensor's sensitivity.I'd recommend buying this.

  • Mostly What I was Looking For . . .
    Verified Purchase

I wasn't really sure I needed an automatic trash can, but since it's really hard to find one in stainless steel that is NOT automatic, I decided to try this one since it was the least expensive. It's actually quite handy, especially because you can override the auto open and close with manual open and close buttions as long as the power is turned on. It DOES take D batteries, which are surprisingly hard to find, but if for some reason you're not using the automatic features, you can turn it off to conserve batter life. The only problem I've had is that I'm using 13 gallon white trash bags which work fine with the stabilizer ring - until you drop in something heavy. That's why it's only 4 Stars. As soon as something heavy was dropped in the trash, the bag came out of the ring and no amount of fooling around with it would get it back through that ring. I need to buy bigger garbage bags or else never put anything heavy in the trash. Right now I'm using my old plastic swing-top can for heavy stuff and the new one for everything else until I can get bigger trash bags that won't pull out of the ring in the new one. This is temporary and I hope the problem is solved by using a bigger bag. If it isn't then my rating would go down, because I don't want 2 trash cans in my kitchen. I DO like the idea that you don't have to touch the lid except to remove the full trash bag and put in a clean one and without heavy trash in the bag (like jars or a heavy container with something in it) the whole area stays clean. Plus, it looks great in my new kitchen with my stainless & black appliances and my black granite counters!

  • Great Look, Size and Price

I priced Stainless steel trash cans, and found them to be very expensive. I was looking for something a bit nicer than my old plastic (ugly) trash can. I wanted something that that actually looked sleek and nice when out in the open. This is the best one I found when it comes to "looks" and size and price.I really wasn't looking for an trash can that opens or uses batteries, but the price was actually very good compared to ordinary large stainless steel kitchen trash cans. Some pluses: I put rechargeable batteries in about 4 months ago, and still have not had to charge them. Going strong. It uses a large kitchen garbage bag. There is a "ring"inside that holds the bag, so it is not visible on the outside. The top of the can is black, not stainless, and since stainless shows every little finger print, etc, this is a good thing. You can hit the "open" button and it stays open, and there is an on/off button on the back side of the lid to turn it off altogether. This is a good option if you have a pet that likes to get into the trash.

  • A satisfied iTouchless user

I've had this product in my kitchen for some months now, and I love it as much as the first day I got it. It's an awesome addition to my kitchen. I love this trash can!

My friends all laughed when I told them I bought a new trash can for the kitchen with a lid that opens automatically, but the laugh is on them. I love it. It's so nice to be able to have both hands free to empty garbage into the trash can and not have to use one hand to open the lid (and touch the surface). It takes 4 D batteries to operate the lid, and the lid operates fairly reliably and opens and closes quickly. (It stays open for about 5 or 6 seconds before closing). There is also an open and close button on the front lid, and an on/off switch in the back if you want to turn it off for awhile. The appearance is quite nice, sleek and modern, and the round shape doesn't take too much room in my small kitchen. It also appears to be well made. I definitely think it was worth the price.

  • This trash can is a bargain!

All I wanted was a stainless steel trash can to match our other appliances in our kitchen, but when I shopped around in stores they were are over $100 and not even very nice looking. I found this one on and was surprised at the price for being stainless and hands-free. After reading the reviews I decided to purchase it and am so glad I did! We have had it about two months now and it works great! There are push buttons to manually open and close it (good for when you want it opened a longer time when scraping plates or dumping things that take longer) and a sensor that makes throwing messy things away really easy. There is also a off/on switch in the back so you can turn it off when replacing the bag. The bag ring inside works well to keep the bag in place too. I have already recommended it to friends!

  • Very practical trash can

This is a very practical and nice trash can. It has been working very well for 1 1/2 year. It is nice looking with touch free sensor lid. This is a great addition to our kitchen. After handling meat/chicken and having sticky fingers, I am not spreading bacteria, as I just wave my hand, the lid opens and then 5 seconds later closes automatically. It is easy to use, change out bags, controls odors! The price is great for such a nice stainless steel trash can.

As someone who has owned the iTouchless 13 gallon steel Touchless Trash Can for over 8 years, I was sorry to see it need to be replaced. Be advised that the hands-free aspect of this product often ceases operation (mine did for over a year and then miraculously started up again). However, when it works well, it is a wonderful product! I love gadgets and am attracted to all types of hands free products. This purchase replaced the one on which I accidentally broke the lid. Hopefully, I will have a trouble free relationship with it for a long time.

  • Smart Automatic Trash Can

This trash can is smart looking and the automatic opening lid operates exactly as advertised. I would recommend this receptical for most any typical residential kitchen application. The standard tall kitchen 13 gallon capacity trash bags fit in this can exactly. The plastic retainer ring that holds the trash bag in place is a great feature that hides the trash bag inside the trash can. I am hoping we will get several years usage from this trash can.

  • Best Value Trash Can

We purchased two of this trash can so we could separate our recycling from our trash. The trash cans look great and hold a lot of trash. The sensor lid works better than we expected it. We've received lots of compliments from guests at our house. We would highly recommend these trash cans. We did a lot of research before we purchased them and it is a really good value!

This trash barrel is great. It is truly hands-free you come within 6 in of the top and it opens and closes on its own. This hides the ugly trash end smell. I love that it and keeps my dog from being able to get into the trash. I highly recommend this trash barrel for all. It looks great too. Fast shipping reasonably priced.

  • Wonderful Quality Trash Can

I bought this trash can as a gift for myself and my whole family loves it too. It's a beautiful product and looks great with any black and stainless kitchen decor. It works just as described, and even better. The trash bags are completely inside the unit and the ring which holds the bags secure is strong and easy to deal with. The lid is large and the timing of the autosensor makes the trash can easy to use and keep clean. It is such a joy to cook and have this trash can at the ready! You can keep your hands clean and not have to touch anything! After a few seconds the lid closes and the unit is clean and beautiful and ready for you to hover over the sensor with something else you wish to toss. I love it!"

  • Great trashcan

This can looks nice, is fairly well constructed and works flawlessly, the only design feature that I would change is the location of the on/off switch from on the backside to the top someplace because if it gets bumped back just a 1/4 of an inch from the spot I want it, it hits the switch and turns the lid off. Otherwise I really like it, don't know yet how long the Batteries last as I have only had it a month. And 4 D cell batteries are not cheap anymore.

  • Great durable trash can

We've had this trash can for two years and still worked as good as day one. It is durable and is the best trash can we've ever had. I tried all the expensive stainless steel trashcans but this is well worth the money. No only it is less expensive but it really comes in handy while I'm cooking. The sensor lid let me through trash away without touching it. The stainless steel is brushed finish and thick enough to handle bumps. If I need to replace one, I would buy this trash can again. I'd highly recommend it to everyone.

  • Great SS Trash Can

This trash can is well worth the money! The touchless feature is wonderful, especially if you have kids. This feature avoids any unsightly spills because you stand in front of the trash can and it automatically opens and closes for you without having to lift the top up like a regular kitchen trash can. You don't even see the trash bag at all. I highly recommend purchasing this trash can especially if you have stainless steel appliances in your kitchen. It has a nice sleek appearance."
